POG PUB 2024: A New Year, A New Thread, A New You

When I lived in California, I lived with my youngest sibling, my lil brother, who was in the Navy for 20 years and eventually made Chief. After he retired, she switched genders and became a girl.

She loved Alexander Hamilton for whatever reason and actually read that big ass Ron Chernow book on him that everyone has.

She splurged on like forth row tickets to see Hamilton! at the Aranoff Center. A thousand dollars. The only expensive theater tickets I've ever had. And an amazing show!

It awakened a love of the theater in her and she started going through the coming attractions to determine what other shows we could see together.

Instead of any of that, Covid happened and she went into a deep depression and shot herself in the chest and is dead.

I've never been to a strip club or on a cruise.

For an additional mind****, I am the person who taught her to shoot guns and I helped her pick out the big .45 Kimber. She said she wanted something to shoot at coyotes.

The cops still have the gun, I don't want it.

I've bought tickets to 2 concerts since covid, didn't go to either. Sold tix to Elton John, gave away the Pearl Jam tix. I think I've learned my lesson and will not buy any more.

I've been out of the movie watching game since having multiple children. Anything newer than 2020 I couldn't tell you about. Older stuff I've got opinions on though

Wicked the movie was pretty good. The end drug on a bit and I'm not sure about Jeff goldblum as the wizard even though it should make sense.

Set pieces and costumes look really good.

Ariana was good though I could see not everyone liking her portrayal.

One of the last movies I watched was Interstellar. It was absolutely horrible. I had heard the movie made some effort to be scientifically accurate. I turned it off when a guy jumped into a black hole and his daughter's bedroom was in there.

Well that's the end of the movie

So I do remember how to watch them.

I'm claiming first POGger to solve a 4x4 rubik's cube in 2025.

I gave up booze completely in May and it was the best decision I ever made. Didn't drink at all post-Helene which feels like a huge victory. Health numbers are the best they've ever been and I've gone from 211 earlier in the year to 187 at midnight last night with no change in diet (it's usually fairly good anyway). Climbing 2 full grades higher than my previous max with no extra training. Started a relationship with a woman who also doesn't drink, and we are planning our first climbing trip to Yosemite for this coming fall. Can't think of a single aspect of life that wasn't made better.

Yeah but a 4x4 is easy if you already know 3x3. I often just solve the centers and edges and then scramble it back up. That's where the fun is!
