Anyone else notice day time cash game traffic has taken a major nose dive lately?

It'll pick up in the winter.

Is this a planned outage today and if so, have they given any idea when it might be back up?

It was a planned outage, I think they said 2 hours, but I forget the start time. I was able to download the software update, but no connection yet.

I started playing Poker professionally midway through May of this year and have made a bit over $30k in earnings. Apparently I'm supposed to be paying tax on this money quarterly and I'm a bit afraid that the IRS is going to come after me and be mad. Maybe they have no idea, but when I have a few thousand coming to my bank through Paypal every so often it does make me wonder if they know.

Is it worth hiring a CPA for this or is it better to just handle this stuff myself. Pretty sure all I need is schedule C and Schedule SE and I'm good yes?

Another quick question if anyone knows. If I go to the WSOP next year for the main event, can I write the buy-in fee as a business expense on schedule A? Also would GTO wizard count as a business expense? This could also be a good excuse to get a gaming PC set up with a nice chair and write that off as well.

Hello everyone! I am asked to verify my account when I make a deposit, they ask to send a bank statement on my card. But in all banks in the USA, the statement goes to the checking account, not the card. That's where the conversation with support ended. No statements on this account, photos of the card, screenshots of the banking app are not suitable. Do they actually have a support team in the US that understands how the banking works here? I guess no?

I also think it was my mistake to try a debit card in the first place. I guess using a debit card is a red flag for PS Support, am I right?

I'm not sure about how that works. You wouldn't have a Paypal account by any chance? I've used Paypal with PS and have had no issues. When I withdraw from PS, it goes to Paypal, and then I withdraw the money from Paypal to my bank.

Yes, PayPal is more reliable because it’s already verified by photo and ID check. I later realized I should have used it. So, I guess avoiding debit cards is the way to go. Good luck to me to be verified lol

Not a lawyer but have been filing for a while. Don't worry about late payments, you won't go to jail. Just file normally and pay the late fee, it's only like a few percentages more. Just make sure you start paying quarterly estimated next time year.

I might be wrong about this one but it is floating around the back my head that there is an exemption for the quarterly payments your first year. Either way though Turbo Tax can handle your taxes and if applicable you will just owe a little interest for not paying quarterly.

Anything reasonable that you purchase for gambling is tax deductible. Not just the buy-in for WSOP tournaments & GTO Wizard but also your flight, hotel, meals, etc.

Fyi you can deduct reasonable priced meals and only at 50%, for anyone wanting to file as professional. There's a few pinned threads on 2p2 with more info

Or you can use the per diem rate right?

Is there any chance of expanding to other states?

For the year 2025, Pokerstars Pennsylvania will connect their player pool with New Jersey and Michigan. If you're looking for more to happen this year, good luck.

Has anyone had any luck when requesting hand histories from support? I continually receive an email saying their HH retrieval tool has an error.

Anyone know the code for the $525 deposit bonus?

Thanks. Any idea when this year? That's something, I guess. PA has a lot of people. 🤷*♂️
