Gross spot. V is lol bad. SPR 1 I prob just close my eyes and shove as I would with an overpair. Hope he calls with JT or Axss. If he calls with a pair we have some equity. If he has a set, reload and you should be able to get your chips back from him.
I’m gonna say the same thing I say every time there’s a HH with a whiffed AK in a 3bp and say you can justify just about any play here—chop up all 16 combos and sprinkle them on every branch of the tree if you’d like. It’s really a matter of what your overall strategy is.
I would shove. You aren't in that bad shape against a pair and could be way ahead.
I wouldn't shove, I'd much rather check call. If you shove, you get called by a pair and fold out weaker hands. If you check V might shove with worse hands and you may be ahead
Blinds: $2/3/5 (Straddle: $5)
Hero: BB (A♥️ K♣️)
Villain(s): SB, MP
Effective Stack: $330
Preflop ($10):
MP limps, SB raises $30, Hero 3-bets $105, MP calls, SB folds
Flop ($245): 9♠️ 8♠️ 4♣️
Total pot: $245

Some unpaired hand is like 25% against AK and on 984 QJ/QT/JT/J7/T7/T6/76/75/65 are straight draws, so have more equity. So you don't mind too much if he folds. Also, you 3!, so have JJ+ a lot.
Not 100% of the time.
And I think the point is right about equity. Some hands villain will only realize his equity if we don't bet here. Even against the hands with 25%, we are better off realizing 100% of the pot instead of 75%. And we get to realize our 25% vs pairs.
Ripping it is probably fine. Also, would be great to get AK to fold.
Spray and pray.
Closer to a x/f than shove for me, based on what I expect villain range to look like.
If villain is bad enough to show up with hands that Hero shove is profitable against, he is often bad enough to continue playing poorly for the rest of the hand and do things like check down a losing hand through river showdown.
You really can't x/f, because you are about 25% against a pair and you are putting in about 33% of the money.
If he is calling a shove with 22, he is probably calling with AJ.
There is too much is so far. You could bet/gii. You don't want to check, give him a free card and then your equity against a pair on the turn will be much worse.

Why would he have to reload V only has 330$ eff
You know pretty much he's getting it all in regardless of what you do if he called you with 330$ left for a 105$ open. He's super pot committed. Shove is good here and so is check fold it doesn't really matter because you are not the one that is already stack committed he is. Ask yourself do you want to gamble here because I cannot see him ever folding. You lose your left with 970$ and you just gave V a nice dose of double up. You win your only up to 1660$. and if you just simply fold if check raised you still have a nice healthy 1195$. I guess it all depends on how much longer you plan on being in your session and if this is worth it.
Well, gang, you tried to improve on the advice I provided at the top of this thread, but I'm afraid with every new post you're only further validating it.
I accept payment in the forms of Venmo, likes on my post, or DMs commending my intelligence and/or style.

lol pretty spot on though blunder or not its a straight gamble for his micro stack to taking out a leg on hero's.
Just shove. If he's calling with 22 he's probably calling with AX, and we have outs to pairs.
Nice to see the post above that suggested there are many many ways to play this hand post-flop.
However, no one has suggested how I played it, so I think that means did it terribly.

How come every time I say you can’t go wrong here, y’all take it as a challenge?
