I believe the dealer is supposed to inform the supervisor who is confirming the high hand board that the player violated rule 19 "Anyone found to be in violation of the integrity of these promotions, shall be disqualified. This includes slow rolling or slow playing to get to the next time period.", but that never happens. It is an awful position to put the dealer in. Their income is derived from tips.

The floor gets called over when the high hand is complete and tabled, confirms and radios to the brush stand to put it up on the board. It is impossible for the floor to have any idea what happened prior to him\her being called over. Dealer does not call the floor over during the stall and does not inform floor of the tank when floor arrives to confirm the board.
I have spoken to management about this issue several times. When I am at a table where this happens I call the clock. So I do want to solve the problem and do my part to try, but you are right I also do bitch when it continues to happen.

No but you more likely go to Live vs somewhere else, and it helps keep the food moving so it doesn't sit in the fridge. That food is so over priced - even a $50 food voucher they still are gonna make money. The Tip alone is worth more than the food. Labor and rent is most likely the biggest expense, and they pay that anyways, so giving away food is what ever. I can make those dishes for under $7 and they charge $20+ for most of them.

Does anybody know why some days the low limit LHE game is 4/8 and some days it is 5/10? I have been playing at MGM lately, but when I saw the 5/10 LHE listed on Bravo, I wondered if it might be a better game to play while waiting for the 10/20 Big O game. Horseshoe got tired of the 3/6 players colluding to hit a high hand, so they changed the LHE game to use 3/3/1 blinds, although I haven't seen that game running on Bravo in a while. I'm guessing this is a similar response. Now, if it folds to the blinds, and the small blind completes, there will be $10 in the pot, triggering a $1 rake and a $1 promotion drop. It used to be the case that instead of chopping, 4/8 players would check it down and then ask for a call on a river bet if a high hand is hit to get above the $10 pot threshold to qualify for a high hand. If no high hand was hit, there would only be $8 in the pot and so no drop, and the winner would give back to the loser the $4 they lost. That cost the players nothing. I'd expect a lot more chopping in a 5/10 LHE game.

He should look at this that way. The lower the amount of money involved the more bad players a table is going to have and the more people are just looking to **** around and have fun. Way more people can afford to get hammered and play a bunch of hands for 4 dollars than can for 600 dollars.
If you want to be all super serious about it go ahead but that's the reality.

Uhhhh that's not correct at all. I think you're due for a read of Small Stakes Hold'em. This logic is the same as "these guys are so bad they're unbeatable." More bad players at the table is a good thing for EV, not a bad thing.

Thus, most 4/8 (now 5/10) players have figured out how to maximize their promotion win rate. Here is one bizarre example - if no one else is in the pot, it is common to see players limp in with AA because it would be a disaster if they raised and everyone else folded. LOL :p

I wondered if I should have included "LHE" in my post - I guess so. This probably won't be the last time 5/10 NL and 5/10 LHE get confused. Imagine the looks on the players faces when someone sits down with a few thousand dollars at a 4/8 LHE game. Or someone tries to buy in for $100 at the NL version.
