In this thread, we will play a new word game called Sides. It's somewhat similar to codenames, but cooperative and diff
I had nothing to contribute for the clue but here to say deers = bad
we decided in this thread it's exact match (plural sport/sports would be fine)deer hunter = good; because exact word was guessed (but you can't guess penguin seagull; if 2 word guess gotta make sense together)deers = good because just pluralreindeer = badin the actual game, they say if same root it's fine, so they give example of prince/princess as acceptable for either target
I know this is how we've been playing, but I do think it's a bit backwards. Guessing stuff like deer hunter is really having your cake and eating it too because you know that would never be the answer, and princess is way closer to prince than deer is to deer hunter.

I don't think we've ever been close to a situation where:
- The answer was hunter
- The guessers thought it was deer
- They guessed deer hunter
- The team got a lucky checkmark because of this

I can't remember the exact situations, but there have definitely been times where the guessers weren't sure of the answer, so they guessed 2 words in the hopes that one of them was right. Hay farm comes to mind, but I know there have been others too.

I think generally we’ve been pretty good about avoiding penguin seagulls. Hay farm happened, but they don’t happen much (and bs was called immediately). It also seems to me that, if we want to avoid penguin seagulls altogether, we should just eliminate two-word targets from the list. The whole reason why the two-word angle is possible is because the target could be two words.

It was more than just hay farm, but the thing is that 2-word targets are almost non-existent. The only one I even remember is windshield wipers, and that makes sense as a single thing. There doesn't seem to be any reason why you could answer deer hunter for either word and that is fine, but answering bakery for baker doesn't count.
Seems like the solution is to just axe the 2 word answers from the list. And ban 2 word guesses. Win-win.

No punishment for plural but if some grammatical crime like deers is committed shame the guesser
So question is do we accept teeth for tooth and vice versa?
If we allow plural when it’s just an s at the end then seems we should also accept for tooth/teeth since just plural even if changes more than one letter
Anyway, it’s tooth not teeth, or clue woulda been premolars
