NCAA FOOTBALL 2024 MEGA THREAD - WELCOME TO THE PLAYOFF ERA
Just 8 days until Florida State plays Georgia Tech!
A lot happened while you were away:
Texas and Oklahoma joined the SEC
The Pac-12 went out in a blaze of glory:
Oregon, Washington, USC and UCLA are headed to the B1G
Utah, Arizona, Arizona State and Colorado are headed to the B12
Cal and Stanford along with SMU are somehow headed to the ACC
Poor old Wazzu and Oregon State are now aligned with the MWC in some sort of in-flux relationship
The conferences are huge now, and the schedules are wildly imbalanced. Florida might have the hardest schedule in the history of the sport, while Missouri's playing a sun-belt slate.
FSU and Clemson play each other, but then play ZERO common ACC opponents
Utah/Baylor and Arizona/Kansas State play non-conference games against conference opponents
LSU and USC play in Vegas!
Boise goes to Oregon, a team they've never lost to!
Texas at Michigan!
Alabama at Wisconsin!
Notre Dame at ATM!
Clemson vs Georgia!
And there are some incredibly juicy new conference matchups:
Texas @ ATM is back!
Texas vs Georgia
Oregon vs Ohio State
USC @ Michigan
USC vs Penn State
And then the bizarre:
UCLA @ Rutgers is now a conference game
Syracuse plays home and away against Cal and Stanford for some reason
Half the teams have new coaches, transferred quarterbacks, or both!
Let's get it on!
Allar can’t even throw a proper lateral.
that game was the tits
I never in my life believed id say the following words
I guess I’m rooting for ND
Penn St lost their poise there when they had the ball with 0:52. At worst you need to be thinking OT. Their running game was working, but commit dumb false start and the 10 yard gain was not enough. Then they enable QB to make a huge mistake. Maybe they don't win in OT, but give your players the best chance possible.
ND had to pull some members of the band to play because of all the injuries.
Such an incredible year. We’ll be dogs to title, but at least they’re not obvious frauds like against Bama 12 years ago.
Never in doubt
I’ve noticed that the ND hate on this board has (rightly) dissipated since Freeman took over from Brian Kelly.
How mad is he right now?
Nah. Sure Brian Kelly sucks and makes them even more unlikeable, but it's all institutional. Same with Duke. Coach K also very unlikeable, but at the end of the day, it's the institution brimming with douchebaggery.

You mean watching a game winning field goal? Pretty mad I'd guess.
Freeman comes off as really likeable, even if he is the most handsome coach in football by a huge margin. How huge? Franklin's probably top 5.
Well well well, **** Brian Kelly indeed. And the SEC, while I’m at it.
mad i didn't stick with my hatred of james franklin

I'm definitely one of the haters but **** the haters. 2012 and the other years they made the playoffs were still super special years. And no matter what happens at this point, this year is ND's best year since they won the national title in 93*.
👍
missed hold was egregious
the obv DPI on ND #8 was obv tho
there was a similar looking play on a different Carter bull rush that also went uncalled

well said

What’s funny is that ND probably titles in 2012 if #1 K-State (and current rock star OC Colin Klein) doesn’t get upset by Baylor. The playoff appearances were nice but happened during the peak Clemson/Bama years. Bad timing.
This is a super special season no matter what. Def don’t want to get boat raced by OSU, but a home playoff win + 2 major bowl wins (one vs SEC Champs) and all time wins record in a season will always be incredible. More than BK did during 11 seasons.
Can’t get over being *this* depleted and finding a way to win. Had every excuse to lose last night.

Can’t get over being *th
You have to call that good coaching and "having a deep roster with backups who are ready to play" is quite a trick these days.
With 11 days rest you might not heal entirely, but you should at least be able to get over that massive flu problem and maybe avoid Love having his leg amputated.
and all the years of having to watch shitty teams on NBC every ****ing weekend, no matter how bad they were
Had seen projections of ND +6 to +7.5 vs tOSU and +2.5 to +3 vs TX (which is definitely weird given tonight's 6 point spread).
Betonline has +10 and +3.5
My numbers like both so much no amount of straight up ass kicking tonight will swing the needle. I mean tOSU's looked like the Juggernaut, bitch, but while "hitting hard" might be part of the explanation, I think they've also been runhot to knock both opponents' star rb and 2 best WRs out of the game in the first quarter and Texas was lucky to win *last week* against another team with a one dimensional offense.

I'm not a college watcher but did they ever play a real team on NBC? Seems like it was always a joke or whenever they promoted it on other sports broadcasts it was always something like ND vs. Central Michigan
