2024 NFL Sunday Night Football season long squares pool

2024 NFL Sunday Night Football season long squares pool

Let's try this again shall we? Last year I had this concept, got started late, then had a health scare that derailed my ability to fulfill this contest.

Season long NFL Sunday night football squares pool details: The typical squares board, consisting of 100 squares. The final score of the 18 regular season Sunday night football games, as well as the first 2 playoff rounds, will be the games to be used to determine winners. Once the schedule is released, I will list the tentative games (as the NFL can flex games out of that spot). If games are flexed, I will update each week's official game at the beginning of the week. Payouts will be 5x the entry for each week. Randomization will be done in advance of the season starting, 10 times. This means each square grid will be used for 2 weeks. The board will consist of Home/Away teams for scoring purposes. Home across the top, Away down the side. The goal is to have a $20 pool, and a $100 pool. I am taking names only at this time. Once we get to 70 squares filled, I will start taking escrow. All squares must be escrowed in advance. If a board doesn't sell out, we will roll with blank squares so long as we get 70% coverage. If a blank square hits, that week's prize will roll to the following week. If the final game lands on a blank square, the prize would revert to the most recent winner.

Payouts will be on a weekly basis once the Sunday night football game has been finalized. Please let me know if you have any questions on this!

Interest list:

$20 squares ($100 payout per week on final score only):

cokeboy99: 5 squares

$100 squares ($500 payout per week on final score only):

cokeboy99: 2 squares

No, you're cut off. Everyone else still gets to play, and I get your squares.

Just kidding, obviously.

Whatever I win at this point heads straight to the Super Bowl squares.

Speaking of Super Bowl squares.....

The opinions I value most are the regulars in OOT, and in this thread. For those that got involved, what did you think of the "every score change" board I ran last year? I thought it was fun, though trying to get the dollar amount right was a guessing game. I'm trying to get things lined up for this year's boards and I'm thinking I want to run that one again, but I'd appreciate a little feedback from anyone willing to give it.

Run it? Dollar amount? Last year was $250, but I dropped it to $125 a few days before the game to make sure it was full. It didn't bring in some of the people I was expecting. They wanted $250+ boards, but only with a more normal pay structure, and that didn't interest me or the majority of my regular runners.

TIA

i enjoy every score change boards, but also understand they aren't for everyone

Minus $20 if I win tonight.

will tonight make the first back to back winner?

No, AquaSwing won in weeks 10 and 11.

Also, I'm winning tonight, and didn't win last week, so back-to-back won't be possible.

We'll see about that

Washington (away team) wins 23-20 over Tampa Bay (home team).

This is a square win for Steve350. $80 sent per post that was quoted. Thank you sir, and congrats on the good karma win!

Week 20 board (the final board of this contest) will be posted later this week. It will feature the later Sunday game as our game to watch.

Thanks!! Received $80 as agreed.

I'll be in for every score change. Depending on how much of a hassle it was for you last year, I wouldn't mind it running just like last year: start at $250 with the disclaimer up front that it will switch to $125 if there aren't enough buyers.

Whatever was done last year was fine by me (score change) I remember $250 not filling up. Maybe start at $200 this year and then go down to $100 if it is taking too long.

Welcome to week 20! This week is the final matchup of our pool, and it features the Sunday late game of the divisional playoff weekend, featuring the Baltimore Ravens (away team) at the Buffalo Bills (home team). The board is posted below. Good luck everyone!

Also, as a side note, I wanted to say thanks to everyone who participated. It's been fun having an extra sweat through the NFL season, and I'll run this again next year if everyone wants it to happen again.

Hey everyone, this thread has been nominated on the "new" forum for best thread of 2024. If everyone could go vote for it, that would great, mmm kay? It would probably be better if when you went there you logged in, otherwise it will assign you a random screen name on your vote and who knows if that will count or not, the rules aren't very clear cut. Probably ok not to log in, but who knows. Anyway, GO VOTE! All you have to do is "Like" the post nominating it. It was nominated by FollowingTrout, it's about 17 comments down. Thanks!
