Favorite comedy skits
The John Travolta Gay Dracula skit from SNL (1994) might be my all-time favorite. Everything tells me that Norm Macdonald wrote this one.

Considering how absurd and original The Kids in the Hall were, I'm somewhat surprised they were able to come up with so much quality material. Two my favorites: "Bad Anecdote Guy" and "Arms in a Vat of Dead Fish."

And here's The State pretty much nailing a Saturday morning cereal commercial.
Ok it's a cliche but I don't know if I ever laughed harder than the Swayze vs Farley Chippendales audition
I used to like that sketch too — Kevin Nealon's deadpan expression got me every time — but a while back I came across an article that quoted Bob Odenkirk and Chris Rock's thoughts on it, and it led me to change my mind.
It was a huge bummer to me to see that scene get on the air and get such attention. I know it confirmed Chris's worst instincts about being funny, which was how he proved his worth — that getting laughed at was as good as getting a laugh. Writers I knew and respected defended this sketch because it had a funnyish idea buried in it: the Chippendales judges prefer Swayze's dancing over Chris's but can't put a finger on why. But that idea is not what produced the gales of cackling (and gasps) from the live audience. Chris flopping his overstuffed body around did that. I feel like I can see it on his face in the moment when he rips his shirt off. Shame and laughter are synthesized in the worst way. F--- that sketch."
"Here's the thing: The sketch is funny. I'm not going to say Farley dancing as a Chippendales dancer isn't funny," said Rock, whose time on SNL overlapped with Farley's. "But at the end of the sketch, the guy comes up to Farley and goes, 'You're fat, disgusting.'"
"He felt ugly, he didn't feel attractive. He didn't feel like people really wanted to be around him and that sketch kind of fed into that," Rock claimed.
Robert Smigel defended it.
"What was amazing about the sketch, and what people forget, is that Farley was incredibly nimble," Smigel told Stern. "He was an athlete, and he danced incredibly well in that sketch, actually, and he had this fantastic energy, and, like, in a way, it was a very empowering sketch, and I think that's what people felt the first time they watched it. Like, look at this guy go... He's an amazing physical comedian."
Smigel's observation is worth noting, but the Conan appearance below supports the opinions expressed by Odenkirk and Rock. It's quite a downer.
Hilarious clip about The Dana Carvey Show.
Yabba dabba doo dabba dooba dabba deebee dabba.
Technically, this isn't a sketch. But for all practical purposes...
TWKYK - Slow Jerk is the GOAT there. So brilliantly simply and endlessly funny.
Clayton Bigsby.
Dead Parrot.
Word Association with Chevy and Pryor. Insane to even imagine this one today.
Celebrity Jeopardy.
Hot Dog Car Sketch.
Ass Pennies is the GOAT skit
Classic
Funny skit. Bill Hader is so talented. When it comes to writing and being generally funny, a lot of cast members were obviously great, but there were a few that could basically become anyone. Hader is one of them. Hartman and Hammond were also great. His Alan Alda has to be one of the best impressions I've ever heard.
But nothing can top Phil Hartman's Phil Donahue (first 3:30).
"When I'm ****ing you, Ben Affleck, I feel like I can fly."
Joan Jett, Robin Williams, Don Cheadle, Perry Farrell, Macy Gray, Lance Bass, Cameron Diaz, Huey Lewis, McLovin, Meatloaf, Harrison Ford... They really went all out with this bit.
Trevor Moore from The Whitest Kids U' Know. I've seen some skits and thought they were pretty good but never dug in. Anyway, my buddy sent me this song he did, and I just about lost it. I normally don't like song humor or whatever, but this is really good.
The most famous Mitchell and Webb sketch is the Nazi one which is fair. I assume everyone has seen it.
This is equally great to me because it is not edgy or innovative at all. You see it coming a mile away and it that makes it funnier. It is just perfection of the form.

I've seen that sketch but forgot about it. The setting, lack of edge, and the fact that it goes right where you're expecting, reminded me of this one. The sketch you posted has a better ending, though.
