Knacks have surrendered to the surging PISTONS at home yet again. JB Bickerstaff will have a job as Official NBA Rebuild Coach now as long as he's breathing air.

Cade Cunningham has ARRIVED.

Reminder that in 2029, Monty Williams will get paid a dozen millions $$ by the Pistons

He totally Costanza'd his way out of that job. He should be in jail.

What the hell is it that makes the Cavs and Thunder so good??

This prob gets worse if Jomboy lip reads it.

She gave him a T for hanging on the rim in the first half. I’m guessing he was on her all night

The fix was in.

The local Boston media is talking about Jaylen Brown (and/or others) possibly being traded because the anticipated luxury tax hit is impacting the sale price of the Celtics.

If the current owners have to decide between maximizing sale price and maximizing championship equity, I don't think they'll have a hard think over it.

Ja is a GANGSTER!

and yeah current Celtics ownership will definitely choose maximizing sale price over maximizing championship equity.

What do they trade Jaylen Brown for and to where!?

To Orlando for a 2nd round pick

white, holiday, KP all good players that would be moved before brown im sure

brown isnt getting traded as a business move, thats clickbait

i always expected nba to trend more towards baseball/nhl in terms of becoming more niche, culturally less relevant

but it is happening at breakneck pace now, dont think ive had 1 casual friend of mine ask me about the league all year

The people I know who actually care about the NBA fall under two categories:

1. Diehard Knicks fans
2. People who gamble on it

Its a solved game, so it's less interesting. That, plus media is more fragmented (lots of home teams can't even watch all their own games because of broadcast issues).

I think we were headed here either way like I said...young bros aint watching 2 1/2 hr games when you can watch highlights in 7 mins and spend the other 2 hours checking what your crush is doing on the gram or whatever, tik tok, all that stuff

but you look back so much of what the league/media was doing from say 2010-2020 and how unsustainable it was....stars leaving teams/trades all the time, the woj newsbomb era being more interesting than the games, building the entire league discussion around comparing the best player to the best player from the 90s, just a lot of candle burning at both ends that couldn't really go on forever

i dont really think its necessarily worse either, just less interesting

Word up 2 days.. Great thoughts they're.

watching 3 point vs 3 point over and over is not that appealing from a strategic standpoint of viewership.

I get that it's most +EV it just makes for mostly terrible TV.

If I have a game on these days I really only start paying attention til 5 mins left.

doesnt help that you basically need a MBA in finance or a law degree to understand most CBA minutia

minnesota had their best season in 20 years last year going WCF and they got the most popular american star in the league under 30 y/o, so what happens? they gotta trade their 2nd best player because something called the "2nd apron" and luxury tax balloon payments are coming

Half way through the season and it looks like a bunch of players are going to miss out on potential awards/All-NBAs for not hitting the the 65 games.

Not going to find all of them, but Ja, Embiid, Luka, Wagner, Paolo, Butler, Zion, Chet & Kawai already out.

Tracking to be out
Kyrie - 10 games
Durant - 10 games

Still tracking okay, but not much room for error
Curry - 8 games
Green - 7 games
Brown - 7 games
Dame - 7 games
Powell - 7 games
Joker - 6 games

What award is Norman Powell at risk of missing due to not playing 65 games?

The Norman Powell Participation award.

One day, only one guy will play 65 games and he will automatically win MVP
