Legacy of the PopayJR
Hey all!
Welcome on my blog where i will be posting my progress in poker. But let start step by step:
Who am i?
I am 29 years old guy from Slovenia who is full time employed and wants to change that and live from playing poker. Two years ago i finnished my master degree of law, but my passion is in this amazing game. Currently i live in a small town in Slovenia with my girlfriend. We are paying a rent for flat 400 € per month (200€ / person), so i think we have pretty good conditions for playing poker. It is not that expensive that it could be. However, besides poker i am also a big fan of Iron Maiden.
How do i take care of my mindset?
- running (+ other sports),
- healthy food,
- ice cold shower,
- meditation
My poker journey so far:
I am playing poker for more than 10 years, but only as side income. Last year i decide to go more seriously in it. I bought a courses and i started studying and playing more. If i point out that in 2020 i was break even player, then i think i did improved my game - last year i made almost 4000$ profit. It could be better, i know, but it was really turbulent year (one month i was away from tables due to covid, i lost my job,...). Right now, i am in my CFP deal, goal is make 20k $ profit. I have a lot of videos and other content there + 1 on 1 sessions with coach. Currently i am at 2k$ profit after 160k hands.
I am playing No - limit 6 - max cash game. Currently i am at NL 25 and making a shots to NL 50. My winrate on NL 20 is 10-12 bb/100 hands over more than 100k hands.
Goals for this year:
- Become more constant player and crushing NL 50 till the summer.
Blog update:
Every monday with the results for past week + goals for new week.
Here is my first graph for last 100k hands on NL 20:
So, see you next monday! ๐

Hi all!
I think I have to be happy with past week. I played good and make some money on the tables, I am also happy I made all the goals I set, except studying hours. I didn't track it but I think I put less hours on it. The reason is probably because I didn't stop playing at 2 am as was a plan and that means I sleep longer which takes me more time for studying Anyway I am happy I finished 2nd part of mindset videos.

Hi all!
Past week went quite bad. Action on the tables was very bad, at some point I thought I have to change the site but I decide I will stay here till the end of the month If It will be better. That's why I played just 6,5k hands. I always prefer table selection over grinding vs regs. Also I ran quite bad + my red line goes down. ๐ฎ Not good, but It will be better

I start new year with downswing but I think I managed it and didn't lost that much. At the end of the month was 2 or 3 sessions very bad, I wasn't playing with right effort which cost me to make better month.
Hands: 42.514
Profit: +1963,55 $
Hi all!
Past week didn't go so well. I added one table of NL 200 but ran bad there. As I said on previous monthly report I didn't put right effort on the tables. Lost focus a little bit, I put myself too many times in the big pot with bad hand. Buuuuut I was studying with right effort and discipline so I am motivated

Hi all!
Well...It's been a while since my last update here. Probably no one has interest to read full story, so long story short:
I started January 2024 quite good on NL 100 but then happened: a close family member was diagnosed with cancer. How this impact on me? I spent a lot of time and energy to comorted her, don't need to mention that she is a negative minded oriented. My energy dropped to zero! And consequently my motivation to poker and of course to update blog. Later my close family member (not the same as above) died and I was down again. I needed more than 6 months to recover my self to the point where I was before eyerything started. At the end of 2024 I went on holidays to Chile and Argentina to power my battery, and It seems It actually worked!
"What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger" - Friderich N.
This is damn true! Somehow I survived on poker tables and all I can say is that I am really motivated and I am doing less mistakes as I ever did in my poker career. For example; I have a plan to play 180 hours in January to come back as first as possible and for now I am doing great with volume.
I am now more than two years as a professional player which is great! I felt really really bad when I went down from NL 100 to NL 20 but after a long period I realised that I actually can make a really good money even in that limits! And I am using more tighter bankroll management now.
2024 was hellish year. Time to forget about It, stop crying and focusing only on the future.
Oh, I wish you all the best in new year!!
Goals for next week week: (20-26.01.2025)
- volume of hands: 20.000
- warm up before every session
- max focus every session
- sessions: 6
- volume of studying: 4 hours
- volume of playing: 48 hours
- running: at least 50km
Some highlits of 2024:
- Got a free ticket for MTT worth 50 €, made it trought day 1 to final table. I won 1.264,84€ in prize + 733,51 € in bounties so all together 2k€.
- Best session (I was playing NL 100 that time):
- 3rd place on freeroll:
- I made a ticket for 300$ highroller on KK poker. I played It but didn't go as planned. Big donk catch runner-runner to bust me. But really fun to see even high stakes poker is not dead. ๐
- 130k hands during the year. Can't really remember the limits but I would guess NL 20 ๐ :
- Beautiful Chile:
- Buenos Aires:
- Before Iron Maiden concert. This was the reason we went to South America. I saw them four times past year (two times in Santiago de Chile, two times in Buenos Aires:
See you all next week!
Hi!
It's great to see you again.
Life has dealt you hardships, and it is harrowing when it happens to your loved ones.
Itโs great to hear that youโve regained your energy and motivation, and that your holiday in Chile and Argentina gave you the reset you needed. Sometimes, stepping away and recharging is the most valuable move you can make.
Here's to 2025 being a year of success, both on and off the tables. Keep crushing it, and donโt hesitate to update us on how itโs going.
