Uh…that was exactly what Trump and officials were saying, that it would be a day 1 executive order. When the breaking story in Wall Street journal came out suggesting it was punted the looney jumped a cent immediately. So I dunno that saying “no one” thought it would be done in the slew of other day 1 executive orders is accurate. It was uncertain for sure.

Keep in mind he signed an executive order to look into trade between Canada and Mexico to report back to him in April so as skeptical as I was he would sign 25% tariffs on the day of inauguration I am also skeptical of Feb 1 st

I was very curious who the environment minister would back as he gave Trudeau the ultimatum that he would quit if Trudeau extended any more carbon tax cuts after the Atlantic province one.

I figured he would go to the candidate that promised him the cabinet post of Environment Minister and the most extreme carbon tax scheme.

The whole framing of what the reporter was getting at there was not great, and they need to realize that PP's not going to give them any help or leeway whatsoever - for better or for worse he likes to be combative with media, and will jump on any perceived weakness in a line of questioning.

The one part I liked, but also concerns me, was: "We should just have a government that minds its own damn business and leaves people alone to make their own personal decisions. That's the kind of government I'm going to run." If intended to simply mean live and let live, sounds great to me.
