The "LOLCANADA" thread...again
So what's new?
I've noticed the Liberals are now ahead in all major polls and Trudeau hasn't even started to campaign yet...i'd be shocked if they lost the election now.
Just shows just how incompetent Conservatives are.
I mean, you can just look at the Colombia situation and know exactly what is going to happen.
Deportation flights were happening under Biden, it just wasn't being reported
Trump wants to make a big show out of deportation flights
Colombia says "We aren't going to accept unfiled flights where our citizens are being held in chains"
US says: okay, we will warn you appropriately of the flights and unchain your citizens
Trump Twitter: Holy **** Trump is so powerful Colombia CAVED IMMEDIATELY TO HIS WILL
Well, he had 40+ of that at least back in mid-December, and likely could've gotten to 49 or 50 by discussing it like an adult.
So in the end, Trump creates a bunch of turmoil to get what he could've gotten less publicly, but the public show is what he wanted. Is that a win or a loss? No idea. Gets to show his enemies that he'll even **** with his allies so watch out, while showing his allies how he'll throw them under the bus to do so. Hard to say whether that's a positive or a negative IMO.
As
A pretty good take on it though I think CDN's will be looking at labels more and not forget about this unlike the average American who never noticed.
Id still like to see these provincial borders come down
So I guess Trump is still subsidizing Canada 100-200 billion a year?
I'm just laughing how anyone thinks Trump looks good at all coming out of this, I guess his cult will but he literally folded when Canada announced tariffs on the USA.
Canadians won't forget I don't think...this whole thing was actually starting to get them to support Trudeau again
Canadians won't give a damn in a few months. Business as usual trumps feelings.
Trudeau resigned, once government is back from being prorogued and a new Liberal leader is picked, Trudeau packs his bags.
Lol, the revisionism starting quick eh? Trump declared economic war on us. You can't be mad I called it exactly what it was. The anemic 1% of fentanyl that crosses our 8km unsecured border that has billions of goods flowing over it every day won't be stopped by the already pledged 1.3 billion or most of the already there border guards etc doing some photo opp marches. It was always a fake problem, and Trudeau has done an excellent job of threading that needle of pretending to take the excuse ser
It's almost like your forget what you post and just ramble on and expect people to believe your bullshit. YOU declared economic warfare, YOU declared we are at war and Mexico was joining the fight. I said Trudeau has to do what Trump says and he did exactly that.
Source on 1% on fentanyl because this is something you've repeated multiple times.
I agree. I've never seen Canadian so unanimously (well, other than shifty) aghast in horror at what was being threatened against us, and I think there is a vibe shift or whatever in how Canadians perceive the US that won't be easily forgotten.
The funny thing is I bet if you asked the average Canadian I doubt they'd be able to explain to you what tariffs are without using grok.
It was fake and manufactured horror, that could have been easily avoided if we had a competent government the past 8 years.
Turned out the pound of flesh was cheap.
That 1.3 billion was what Trudeau already pledged. It's probably just pissing into the wind and can't make a real difference. But if Canada wants to make a show of force for 30 days and march shoulders up and down the border pretending it is helping, great. Go for it. Tell Trump he won big. But this is an idiocy tax we can afford to pay.
Trudeau has done very, very well.
LOL. I told you multiple times this is exactly how it was going to play out. This is exactly how it already played out with Mexico, Venezuela and Panama.
Trump talks tough. Everyone offers him some mostly empty concessions, and he declares victory. Trudeau handled it the worst by far of all the leaders. Sheinbaum the best.
President Trump uses tariffs as bargaining chips, that's all. All the items Canada wants to put tariffs on for the U.S. we can already get in our own country, and don't listen to fake puppets that were already dissolved; if you wanna vacation down at Walt Disney World you still have every right to do so no matter what happens with the restructure.
Canada is so insignificant and yet trump keep saying he want it to be the 51th state and and US/Can as one would be A power house in the world ….
Did he? I don't recall Trump making any specific requests, but I do remember him talking about a lot of grievances and things he'd like, a couple of which he got to some extent.
I swear people's brains turn to mush when it comes to Trump.
Trump has threatened to impose tariffs on products from Canada and Mexico if the countries do not stop what he called the flow of drugs and migrants across southern and northern borders. He said he would impose a 25% tax on all products entering the US from Canada and Mexico as one of his first executive orders

lol I'm not the president of the united states buddy. He declare war. Not me. I'm a guy on a computer, try to keep the two separate. It was taken seriously, as it should be. I'm not quite sure why correctly labelling 25% tarrifs as "economic war" was to triggering to you.
Just lol at basic facts reported over and over in the news media being something you need re-googled for you.
LMAO at shifty thinking this is "specific":

Shifty - who never once said it before trump did - was day one repeating the "Secure the border" talking point. When anyone asked shifty or trump what this ****ing meant for an 8km long border we got ZERO actual practical implementable details back. Just single sentence lines like this quoted here.
She probably comes out looking the best. While other premiers stop the sale of alcohol to alcoholics or "rip up" peanut contracts with the richest man in the world to cut his citizens internet access while anouncing it in his platform, Smith was in DC talking to anyone that would listen. She even called what to do a week ago.

So Canada and Mexico got identical tariff threats, did very similar counter tariff threats, both got the tariff delays of a month, and both said the same "empty concessions" of 10k people. Heck if anything Trudeau didn't have to promise as much as his 10k didn't sound like 10k military people, but "frontline personal who are working..." as if there isn't really anything much new.
So where exactly was the claim Trudeau handled it worst and Sheinbaum the best coming from? They look pretty identical.

No he didn't, he threatened it if his demands weren't met. They were, for now.
Just lol at basic facts reported over and over in the news media being something you need re-googled for you.
Go for it.

I'm not the President of the United States. I was against fighting him on it because in no way could Canada ever win so, like I said at the time negotiate with him and secure the border. Which is what happened. But you were frothing from the mouth and said we need to band together and fight, which would of been a lot of pain and suffering for Canadians.
I imagine it's written somewhere that the best negotiator is one who convinces both sides they won.

As I've said before, Trump will be seen as a liberator. If Canada fix our immigration, provincial trade barriers and cut regulations to allow our resources to reach different markets then it's a win for Canada.

Maybe Canadians should stop being so lazy and stupid and they will stop losing all their jobs and property to the Indians

Except Canada did fight and did band together and did win. I'm not sure whether words like "fight" are just super triggering to you against your Dear Leader or something. Trudeau is incredibly brave to stand up to the plate and announce tarrifs on 155 billion of US goods - but he also had the country largely unified, did that was a mountain of preparedness on the faux border issue with the previously announced 1.3 billion, and a LOT of soft diplomacy to make that point heard. They DID fight. They fought well. And they won, with basically empty, already made concessions only being needed to be "negotiated".
Take one example. Basically everyone now has heard over and over on media report after media report on both sides of the border than Canada made up less than 1% of the fentanyl seized. Only the most deranged of MAGA folks are left surprised by this, the type of person who has their head fully buried in the sand not paying any attention and just droning out Trump talking points on command. Well part of why everyone but these few know this is because of the work of Canada.
Anyone who says Trudeau looks bad over this simply has Trudeau derangement syndrome.
Trump has shown himself to be weak when it matters most.
Canadian Conservatives should feel lucky he is as if the tariffs actually went through they'd absolutely lose the next election

You are anti alcohol, u should think they came on top those PM that stop alcohol sell ..
Not always wise to turn to insults so quickly when your own reading abilities are...less than optimal here. I'll roll back the tape for you and highlight the important word:
Did he? I don't recall Trump making any specific requests, but I do remember him talking about a lot of grievances and things he'd like, a couple of which he got to some extent.
I try to choose my words carefully, and in this case very much so because it's key to the point that I was making - that Trump never made any specific requests, but instead made continual vague references to things he wanted fixed, or grievances that he had. And I was making that point in response to this post of yours:
And then you offered this quote up to explain what he wanted:
Trump has threatened to impose tariffs on products from Canada and Mexico if the countries do not stop what he called the flow of drugs and migrants across southern and northern borders. He said he would impose a 25% tax on all products entering the US from Canada and Mexico as one of his first executive orders
Well, I'm pretty sure that JT's promises haven't, and won't "stop what he called the flow of drugs and migrants across southern and northern borders". Did JT promise some funding that Trump will claim is what he wanted? Sure. But it certainly doesn't fulfill that ask. And how about the trade imbalance, or banking, or anything else Trump was bitching about? I don't recall a whole lot from JT on those things today.
The obvious implication of your post was that Trudeau would have to do whatever Trump asks. Um...nope. Obviously there is a power imbalance at play and Trump has the upper hand and will win concessions from Canada at times. This won't be the last time he'll be trying to strong arm us, and I expect he'll get some of what he wants in the future as well. I don't think this particular showdown has resulted in any great victory or loss, which is counter to what I took out of your post.
It's funny how full of bullshit you are.
You said 1% of fentanyl that crosses the border and claimed this is easily googleable. You googled it and are now trying to sneak in the word seized. There is a difference between crossing the border and seized.
Canada is so insignificant and yet trump keep saying he want it to be the 51th state and and US/Can as one would be A power house in the world ….
He's not trying to be a power house, he's already a power house with other more powerful countries than Canada. The U.S. has been paying to keep Canada safe and the majority of Canadian citizens live next to the U.S. border anyway.
Whatever Trump ends up doing should be a win/win for both countries. I can only imagine what kinds of dirt the alliance has on him for Trump to get him to step down. Does Canada have a national income tax besides GST? Trump wants to abolish federal income tax in the states so he would probably do it for Canada too (in lieu of a new 14% GST).
