Donald J. Trump (For everyone else except Victor)

I assume it's still acceptable to have a Trump thread in a Politics forum?

So this is an obvious lie - basically aimed at

to cut expenses? not at all, the onus of proof is on the people who want an expense to exist.

What you posted was a link with claims. There is no proof that those claims are true or what they're for and who they're with.

by Luciom k

Anyway for the 12912124th time, it's then the specific agencies that decide what to cut given the list. Like they do ordinarily. Only difference is they have a list which is written 100x faster by people who have 0 conflicts of interest and rather the correct bias wrt public expenditure: they hate it in general.

You realize that Musk has a conflict of interest being that he has government contracts that are in the neighborhood of $4 billion, yes? Oh wait... that's different. Him blowing taxpayer money on bullshit is totally fine... forgot about that.

There are a lot of scared people out there, right Chuck?

Yeah typically a "hostile takeover" is a bad thing. Thats called a coup, which this situation has been accused of being.

Imagine having your sense of self so thoroughly eroded that you are cheering on the oligarchs to dismantle your country.

Wild times

Imagine being so against democracy that you refuse people who win elections to legally reshape government functions according to their preferences as they campaigned for

You've really lost your touch. You haven't made a good point in months.

I didn't vote for him, actively warned people against this, and have no power over the situation to "refuse" anything

If you have something against some of the contracts that democrats signed with Musk tell me what you dislike, it might be the case some expense is un-necessary. Afaik it's all space related and afaik it's all done so much more efficiently for a fraction of costs than NASA, the comparison is quite a joke.

Basically it's about "should the government do stuff in space at all, and if so, how much", which i guess is a fair question, but after you answer that paying Musk for it looks like the objectively best possible way to achieve those goals.

That would be a conflict of interests ofc if we made Musk decide "how much stuff to do with space". The conflict he lacks though, unlike all democrats (and many "normal" republicans) , is he doesn't give a **** about public employees as a voting block. That's the structural conflict of interest that shapes public expenditures in democracy, that's what makes the waste grow every year in perpetuity.

Because the waste is votes. For normal parties. Not for oligarchs who can procure the votes with the social media company they own gaining 2 for every one they lose by mistreating a public employee, just by letting people know he is going after that waste.

You are calling absolutely legal operations within the executive branch, to re-tool procedures and priorities according to the new administration preferences, "a coup". You just hate democracy.

The tweet called it a hostile takeover, which is the definition of a coup, which is a word that some have used to describe the current situation

None of that is me, but yeah, if we got here through democracy then I am hating it.

No hostile takeover is corporate finance parlance, where you LEGALLY take control of an entity, but with the previous controllers hating that fact. Nothign at all to do with coups in politics.

Came by to see how raw the tongues are of the sycophants here. Looks like they are still trying to get the tastiest morsel off the deepest thread of those jackboots.

Good luck, mother****ers. I sure hope every drop of your blood is lily white or you'll end up directly under those boots youve been tonguing like the most delectable *******.

Just remember, when they stomp down, you voted for all of this

Actually, there are. And for good reason. I guess that makes you happy.

Hostile takeovers may be legal but they aren't Democratic

We don't need no education..........

I would definitely agree that Musk is effectively performing a hostile takeover where hes spending enough money to influence our country while usurping the Democratic process, but my guess is Lucio wasn't trying to make that point

Do you have your escape plan all set?

I've got mine ready to be put into action only just worried about this capital one discover merger but once I find me a new card with no foreign transaction fees I'll be fully good to go again.

Please explain to me why you need a federal department of education ? We don't have one in Canada as we have provincial boards of education . I assume every state has the same so I am very curious why you need a federal one?
Though wee pay our teachers well which you do not

The easy answer is that many poor (red) states already can't fund their education even with federal assistance. Eliminating the one safety net trying to keep things equal will only exacerbate this issue. Oklahoma is two steps away from implementing regressive theological curriculum and they are already bottom of the barrel in education.

For some reason conservatives love to hate California and New York but those two states subsidies the rest of the country for massive amounts. If I was California I wouldn't be giving anyone else a ****ing thing.

Do we think Darren Beattie will get confirmed by the Senate? Last October, he apparently tweeted this:

"Competent white men must be in charge if you want things to work. Unfortunately, our entire national ideology is predicated on coddling the feelings of women and minorities, and demoralizing competent white men."

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/donald-...

Beattie was fired as a Trump speechwriter in 2018 after attending a conference in which he was on a panel with Peter Brimelow, founder of VDare.

I'm guessing that none of this will matter and that he will be confirmed.

They confirmed the guy with a giant Iron Cross tattoo to oversee our military (nevermind hes literally a midlevel washout) and they will probably confirm the anti vaxer as our leader of all health.

The very best.

Does he have to be confirmed?

If so, I don't see why he wouldn't given what we've seen so far.

Is it any surprise at all that we are going to see more and more white supremacists at the top?

I'm guessing bj, mschu, and the rest are jumping for joy right now.

Yes. His position is high enough up the food chain at the State Department to require Senate approval.

If they do, he would be the best thing that ever happened to our health system.
