Donald J. Trump (For everyone else except Victor)

I assume it's still acceptable to have a Trump thread in a Politics forum?

So this is an obvious lie - basically aimed at

Are you talking about the girl at flag6 looking at Hillary at flag4? 😀

I like that referencing, but no, that might even be a teacher so doesn't count for token black girl. You can't see her in this pic.

Where is she in that girl's hand?

Maybe its just the lighting or the angle or the equipment or god knows what but it sure looks like you somehow picked a photo where her hair has been edited darker

And I waffled on even posting this because this conversation went real weird real fast and I'd almost like to just let it go but sweet lord if that photo was edited

Ya it's a weird convo. Best to move on.

I’m genuinely ****ing embarassed to be the same species as PB

Dont be. The gene pool is a pool, so there must always be a shallow end that's maybe 1/2 inch deep.

Trump wants to end carried interest and tax exemption for franchise sport owners.

If he does both that's a bigger blow against billionaires than anything democrats did in the last decades lol.

I can see the sport thing as they are mostly democrat donors, but i thought finance billionaires were mostly republican donors... what am i missing?

Zoomers are in charge and the "very serious boomers" aren't equipped mentally for that.

The right is shooting itself in the foot by attacking Politico (on pretestuous charges nonetheless), Politico was the most important mainstream media company which actually covered the right properly, with no bias, during the campaign in particular.

Rightwing people were able to link politico articles often enough, to clarify how the rest of the media was grotesquely exaggering their criticism of this or that republican action or claim, and politico was respected enough on the left to be allowed to stand as proof.

Forget for a moment your political views and imagine politics is a game played by two teams.

The goal is to win over the public, taking positions that are popular with voters.

Strategically speaking, one team is consistently on the unpopular side of every issue and have an all time low approval rating.

Yet, they are not adjusting, they are doubling down on a provably losing strategy, making it easy for the other team to rack up wins.

In my lifetime, I don’t think the Democratic Party has ever been worse off than they are now.

They need to fire the coach, GM, owner, and shake up the current roster, trading The Squad to Timbuktu.

Pretty sure he was alive when we had Republican presidents for 12 years straight and they were winning by much bigger margins.

Pretty sure he was alive when we had Republican presidents for 12 years straight and they were winning by much bigger margins.

I think he is talking about this (series started in 2008)

By the numbers: 57% of registered voters have an unfavorable opinion of the Democratic Party, the highest percentage since Quinnipiac started asking the question in 2008.

45% of voters have an unfavorable opinion of the Republican Party.
43% of voters have a favorable opinion of the Republican Party, the highest since 2008.

By contrast, 31% of registered voters have a favorable opinion of the Democratic Party.
That's the largest favorability advantage the GOP has had over the Democratic Party since 2008, according to Quinnipiac.

At this point, education is a reasonably strong indicator of how someone will vote. States with the lowest percentages of voters with college degrees generally go MAGA. States with opposite demographics generally go blue.

I can only imagine how this phenomenon translates into policy in Trump's mind.

MASA?

It is wild to me that there are liberals that believe both that the rich don’t pay a lot in taxes (and therefore the poor and middle pay a lot of taxes) AND Elon is evil for wanting to cut down the spending of the govt.

I would think liberals would either know the rich pay most of the taxes and therefore cutting spending doesn’t help them or they think the middle class pays most of the taxes and cutting spending is good for them.

Elon is evil for wanting to cut down the spending of the govt.

Good lord you dfs love this particular straw man.

Young minds are highly impressionable, and I don't think it's a secret that it takes a certain type of person to get into academia. Setting aside the whole those who can, do, those who can't, teach meme -- there are plenty of highly educated conservatives who simply don't think babysitting college students is the highest and best use of their time, even if they aren't crushing it at private sector life.

If there was more money and prestige potential in being a rockstar educator, you'd see more conservative, competitive minds give it a shot.

I'm not surprised states with a lot of college graduates lean blue, because most universities are led and run by lefties. I am surprised that all of these supposedly trained critical thinkers haven't figured out how to win more elections after they're out in the real world. How useful was that college education if you can't put it into practice outside of the protective bubble in which those ideas were formed?

It makes them look impotent. They should be embarrassed that they're being outsmarted by a literal clown in a suit with an awful bronzer habit.

Instead of handwaving the failure away by claiming everyone else is ______ist and/or ______phobic deplorables, maybe it's time to look in the mirror and switch up the strategy for getting the message out. Maybe make this socialist utopia work in ONE small section of civilization to prove it's possible. Because up until now, we haven't even seen it. My own city has been run by self-described socialists or democrats with full continuity for more than a century, and is worse off than it started.

As for how Trump will attack this, I'd predict that he just cuts any and all federal support for institutions with overtly woke ideals, like requiring dedicated crying rooms and other "safe space" nonsense. I have no idea how deep the woke tendrils have dug into the flesh of higher education, so I'm sure there's more crazy stuff than that. Something like a third of students want campuses free of any words or ideas that might offend them or cause discomfort. This is not how you build a strong country. That's how you end up with the current mental health epidemic and an army of furries.

It's actually hilarious that you think like that.

What am I missing? I know he has access to private govt data, but that isn’t why liberals hate him is it? Because he is friends with trump?

No, that's not why sane people hate him. JFC. Do you people read ANYTHING besides conservative propaganda. Wow.

Liberals have an amazing amount of control over our education system and a large % of the media. It is a bit surprising they haven’t faired better.

It's hysterical that you guys have cause and effect exactly backwards on this one. Education (not indoctrination) produces liberals, not the other way around.

Indoctrination is a mind-limiting experience. Conservatism is, by definition, limiting. Liberalism is the opposite. It's crazy none of you understand that.

CNN and wsj. It seems like he’s getting vilified for cutting spending, accessing govt data and being a big ol’ meany for making govt employees go back to work.

I figured he was really being vilified for being friends with trump.
