Omaha Solver Recommendations/Advice Discussions
I bought Monker Solver and some of the packs, but I am having a helluva time setting the thing up. I am wondering what other solvers people are using and if people can speak to the drawbacks and positives between some of the different solvers out there at the moment?
Differences in terms of:
1. Customization/adaptability
2. Usability
3. Cost
Also, for those that use multiple solvers or have used different solvers, do you find that the solvers consistently give the same GTO recommendations across the board?

If I'm not mistaken Monker is only a solver right? it cannot be used for direct practice ? Thank you for the answer
I personally don’t run solves. I pay other people to run solves while also studying with databases like Mastermind and RIO.
They are incredibly complicated and require high computational power for Omaha. The trees are massive.
I hope to one day build some ridiculous server grade PC with like 256gb of ram and learn to do things like nodelocking to live player tendencies but I wouldn’t start at this route.
It’s much more important to learn conceptually the theories behind certain spots with databases and extrapolate from there, as that’s enough to beat almost every game up to PLO1k online and only the absolute toughest 25/50 50/100 games in Vegas.
You don't need much computational power for HU spots postflop. For example my entry level M4 Mac Mini solves flops in 15-60 min depending on ranges and stacksizes.
There is a learning curve for sure, but you don't need to be a programmer to use it. After few days you get the hang of it.
For preflop you need very powerful computer so just buy them.

There's a ton of value in making flashcards yourself and drilling them using your preferred app. ankiweb.net is one free option that syncs between desktop and mobile.
