Nordstream leaks (excised from Ukraine-thread)
https://www.politico.eu/article/gas-leak...
Nordstream pipelines sabotaged. Seems likely that Russia is the culprit. If the West did it it would give them more justification to escalate I suppose, but that works for Russia too. Maybe Russia even use it as justification to declare war. It could also be a threat to other infrastructure. The Norway Poland pipeline just happened to be opened today. I've also read speculation that it could be a move by Putin to protect himself. Designs to remove him and place someone else in charge who would restart the gas flow are over now.

russian ships in the mediterranean keep blowing up. do people have any funny conspiracy stories about that too? or have we all accepted that the ukrainians are pretty good at blowing up russian stuff by now?

Could be sabotage.
Could be outdated equipment, poorly trained crew and poor procedures. The Russian shadow fleet is old, decrepit and owned by some of the greediest people on this planet. Gas from crude oil and other petroleum products is highly volatile, and Russia is currently sending large swaths of its competent and able bodies to die in Ukraine.
Could be the above combined with moving product to other vessels, either through the crew stealing and selling it or as organized ways to avoid sanction / smuggle. This carries all the risk of the above plus the additional risk of being done by amateurs, poor equipment and in hazardous conditions.
Could in same cases (pending on cargo) be amateur attempts at refueling from your own cargo tanks, an infamous procedure which has sent sailors to their death before.
Could be a combination of these things.
Surveilling and attacking undersea infrastructure -- pipelines and cables -- is Russian policy.
As for Russian ships blowing up, that'll be for the same reasons that the Russian aircraft carrier used to emit huge clouds of black smoke and once broke down and had to be towed home -- old worn-out machinery and insufficient maintenance budget.
