The NHL Thread
For the 5 of us who post NHL stuff, here you go. Officially the season starts Tuesday October 11, although there were tw
I'm not typically someone who's all about the mental aspects but I could see playing in Toronto having a negative effect on him when the pressure gets ratcheted up. He's from there, his contract didn't exactly make him popular, and a large part of Leaf fans and media are insane. He looks like he cares a ton and every failure seems to make it harder on him. Refusal to shoot aside, this guy is one of the most fundamentally complete and creative players out there, but he's layed some stinkers in spring (as has Matthews tbf). It might all be variance and I don't think the Leafs will let him go, but it could be easier on him to sign elsewhere.
4 Nations seemed to be very successful. Interested to see how the NHL will stage a complete World Cup without IIHF involvement. I think it's short sighted to not share some profits since hockey is struggling in Europe and the World Championships finance a lot.
Wowza, does it seem long?
Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin announced today that the club has agreed to terms with goaltender Kevin Lankinen on a 5-year contract extension with a $4.5M AAV.
Demko has 1 year left. Don't think he's coming back. Lankinen at this price for next 5 years is quite reasonable imo, but not if they re-sign Bandaidko.
Blam! Steeves first goal already!
Wooooooooo
lolarolina
12 day break or whatever leading to so wild games
rut roh Leafs blowing it now
it was 4-0...
Matthews!
yay the NHL is back.
VGK getting Brandon Sod on the cheap may be paying off....we do need a GRIT guy.
Edmonton still frauds. YLTSI.
So both Tkachuks are hurt, and one for the season? And all that for coming in second to CanadaGOAT?
FAFO!
Should be plenty of EN chances
Wild how good Caps have been. Spencer Carberry should crush the Jack Adams vote.
I would honestly, not massively surprised because lol parity, but the Eastern conference wildcard spots are a wasteland. The Caps running away with the division and facing some team that barely scraped to 90 points while the Canes and Devils battle in the other series is huge. Same goes for the Atlantic, winning the division should be a a real priority this year
How about dem LEAFS.😉
