I heard yelling last week and looked outside and my mailperson was yelling at my mailbox so I went out there and she said did ya hear me yellin and I was like yeah. She was frustrated trying to play Tetris with my various and often sundry items. When they don't fit, she has to get out of the truck and bring them up to the house.

So I went on Amazon and bought an extra large mailbox for her. I wasn't quite prepared for the size of this thing, two cats could live in it. Going to install it as soon as it's over fifty degrees. Lil mailperson will be chuffed.

I went on Toyota's website and "built" exactly what I was looking for and then they'll tell you what's available in a certain radius around you. Then I went to those dealerships' website and emailed them telling them I was shopping with 10 other places, please tell me your best price for VIN X. The one I ended up with is 3k less than sticker after taxes/fees/allthebullshit. Definitely want to create a new email address that you can just delete later as they are going to hound the **** out of you. Don't give them your phone number either until you've decided which way to go.

Toyota's website really sucks bad, especially once you're looking at specific vehicles in specific locations. You can't right click and open a new tab with each vehicle and way more times than I can count, when I look at one vehicle then go back to the previous view with the list it erases all my filters and I have to reenter them all. Very slow too.

I've never looked at Prius' but I bet they have a ton of variation in price based on which bells and whistles you want. You'd be better off narrowing it down I'd imagine. I was looking at Tacoma's which have a LOT of variation, so maybe it's different with the Prius?

Also, looking at my spreadsheet, they all came in around 1-3k below sticker, so definitely don't pay sticker price. Since you've never bought new before, be aware when negotiating that there are going to be a ton of stupid fees you've never heard of before, lol.

one guy offered me 1k below stick on a 24 prius. there are only 2 of them within 50 miles of me.

the 24s are cheaper obv. so I think I'm just gonna get that.

This is how I do it tbh. I find a car I want and it seems fine and I just buy it. It's how I bought my house as well. I'm not going to spend forever going back and forth.

so when I "buy" a car, it belongs to the bank/lender, right? unless I pay for the whole thing up front? and then after I finish all the payments, then the car belongs to me, and I get the pink slip?

right now they're telling me someone is looking at the car and might buy it. and I should come to the dealership ASAP *sigh*

I was ready to go to the closest dealership and buy whatever they had for whatever price they wanted. the only color they had was "blazing red" or some weird name. I don't want a red car. but I don't really care.

my gf talked me out of it.

I'll just drive the one she crashed. the damage isn't nearly as bad as I thought. just the passenger mirror, and a few small dents. she made it out like it was awful, and the video she sent me looked pretty bad. but finally looking at it in person, it seems fine.
