Whatever Aria pays him to wear the logo’d tracksuit and whatever baseball cap he’s wearing these days (Bet Rivers?, it’s no longer Bitcoin latinum) certainly can’t be that much. I doubt he’s making substantial money off any “sponsors”. Some walking around scratch is probably it.

The others listed all still draw attention on and off the felt but I don’t see any being full time sponsorees.

Last I heard of Chan off the felt was his association with a failed iirc gray market room in Houston.

Seeing Ivey a few times on streams a cash game broadcasts, he is not the same player. It isn’t his skills. He just seems totally distracted. Maybe he is different in private games but I can’t see him being sponsored fully based on public play.

Seidel is still very impressive on the felt. Competing in the highest stakes tournaments but I don’t recall him playing like a sponsored player with his focus on high and super high rollers events

I am sure any of these and some others could get some level of sponsorship for live or on line play. But if they are, this live cash player hasn’t seen much.

He's a thousand percent spending money on these. Have you seen how sad some of these have been in the last 5 years. Its pretty clear Bitcoin Latinum or Brianfuel doesn't have a budget. I watched Matusow's doc on Amazon and they showed Phil going to one of those Halloween Costume shops to buy his Gandalf getup. Pretty sure WSOP is getting tired of these lame setups. Long are the days when Phil had a online poker sites budget when he could afford to crash a race car in the parking lot.

He's a joke, but he's right that 8h+ effective playing time per day for 8-9 days in a row puts older players at a huge disadvantage

I have thought he has those cheap outfits on purpose, for not looking like a douche. I remember the plastic Caesar armor. The classic "I could do that", like poker always is.

Yep Im 57 and its next to impossible for me to take two weeks off from work- my solution is to take a week off, start play day 2B, and know if the lottery ticket came in I could somehow make it work back home. Phil used to enter the tourney late while being blinded off, and late regs most tourneys, and so why he cant start on day 2 with 75bbs at two hour levels is beyond me.

These days Phil H is just a mouse in a world of eagles. Yeah, I was a sucker and bought that stupid book 20 years ago.

The obvious solution is to automatically grant him a seat at the ME FT every year. Anyone lucky enough to make it that far will have the honor of playing with him.

Which makes sense there is no way he's actually trying to grind hard for 10 days in a mine field. He makes his appearances, keeps the endorsements up and yea if he happens to get slapped in the face with the deck on day 5 or 6 he'll start buckling down and trying hard.

For all his bluster he's filthy rich and he knows his legacy is bracelets. He'd rather win a bracelet for 100k than cash this for a million. He also knows he not actually gonna win the main.So what's he really playing for? 10k in ev if he plays super focused for days on end when he's worth a gazillion dollars. Doesn't sound too appealing.

i think he will play and then bink it and go down in history as the greatest nlh player of all time.

Be fun to see him with a big stack at ten tables left. Agreed at this point he’d much rather win three Razz & O8 bracelets than finish anywhere but 1st or maybe 2nd in the ME though he’d never admit it.

I think youre severely overestimating his net worth. probably worth 10s of millions and on the lower end. A $10MM main event cash would mean a lot to him , but your point is well taken ... he cant be bothered to grind these things out.

He's married to a Doctor, so yeah, prolly true.

You think all doctor’s incomes are the same? They actually vary wildly. And she’s a psychologist if I remember correctly, which can be a profession of struggling for client hours just to support overhead. But I have zero knowledge of her practice or if she’s even practicing anymore.

I have no idea what Hellmuth's actual net worth is, but if he truly is friends with Chamath Palihapitiya and all his Silicon Valley buddies like he claims, he should be worth at least nine figures, or if not, he's a certified idiot for bungling the opportunity of a lifetime.

She’s a professor of psychiatry at Stanford, she got her residency there after graduating from UW med school. That’s how they wound up out there.
