People are going to look back in 50 years and question why he played so little

It’s going to be hard to leave him out now

Hazelwood is the answer

Smith has a rare opportunity to pull the ultimate sigma move and retire on 9999 test runs. Every stats nerd would hate his guts.

Incredible

England's women are being pretty disappointing of late

LOL they needed 41 from 1 ball, might've got it if they just kept running

Very impressive hitting, albeit they were bowling pies to him. Tbh some of that is down to the pressure he put on them

Dismal time for England cricket

Gideon Haigh rips in

Before I clicked, I thought it was Gideon lambasting SEN for sacking Peter Lalor.

So England are going to lose tomorrow right?

I'm aware Australia's entire bowling attack is injured, but the replacements are still better than England's current bowling form.

Unless somehow you think the Pakistani pitches will play VERY different to the Indian ones.

Thoughts?

of course england are gonna lose, all we do is lose

Nah England for the win with McCullum tourney factor. Aussie bowlers to crack and Labushane to score too slowly and put the Aussies behind the 8 ball

recent underperformance aside, that england batting lineup is no joke. we're a threat

Lol doing their best to get sub 250 on the best batting wicket in history

Could it be a lolengland

Hell of a chase from the Aussies

Sorry I'm a bit late to this thread just having finished the game but lol England with their bowling attack, compared to ours losing that game - I mean I don't know what the selectors are smoking (probably something that Mark Waugh is on) but Ben Dwarshuis should be nowhere near the Aus team. He is lucky to be playing for NSW tbh. And Carey looked out on his feet in the field - you would never think he played AFL.

There was a time when India vs Pakistan cricket matches was a great fun to watch but it isn't the case any more.

A washout or Aus win vs SA at least puts England's destiny in their own hands.

Copious copium, hopium and opium.

Washout it is. I saw reports that other group matches could be rain affected.

That would be a shame, but the best 2 sides would get through if every other game is rained off, so no controversy possible really

I went to sleep with AFG 3/37 assuming they’d get bowled out for 200 or so and England would win. Was very shocked to see they scored 7/325.

Woke up with England 6/270 and Root having scored his century.

England 10/317 and they are out.

England have been dreadful in white ball for quite some time now. Last time I remember them being good was 498 vs the Netherlands.

I don't even think they were that great when they won the T20 world cup
