I got this email today. I am glad there is some sort of diamond lounge with food again.INTRODUCING HARBOR CLUB AT HARRAH’S RESORT ATLANTIC CITY!OPENING FRIDAY, AUGUST 30, 2024Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City is thrilled to introduce a brand-new experience for qualified Diamond and Seven Stars members.*Harbor Club will feature delicious, buffet-style dining and a premium bar. I wish this was for some weekday hours too but I guess it's a start. Hope it stays.

Ok, how big of a cluster mess is this new harbor buffet going to be tomorrow on it's first day of opening on labor day weekend? Any chance of it being as bad as their old buffet was a few years before covid?

is it just this weekend or every weekend?

I assume it's every weekend. Looks like that * means it cost 10RCs per person. Info from their website:

Diamond & Diamond Plus Member Entry
Diamond members with a Tier Score of less than 75,000 in both 2024 and 2023:
$10 Comp Dollars (1,000 Reward Credits) for Harbor Club access
$10 Comp Dollars (1,000 Reward Credits) for up to 1 guest

Has anybody checked it out this weekend?

It's not getting great reviews so far on a different Vegas forum. No servers, you have to get your own drinks at the bar.

If that is the most serious issue it must be a roaring success.

I’m just leaving Harrahs now and it was open today starting about 2 PM. Food was kinda meh. The menu included soup, steak, salmon, brussell sprouts, scalloped potatoes, pizza, and many desserts. No waiters. It was pretty much a buffet set up. And it was closed all week (but think it was open on Labor Day).

Even food was meh, I’m very happy they brought it back. Free/cheap food is better than no food.

Thanks. I went a few hours after you. It definitely didn't look good at first, but everything was better than expected so I give it a thumbs up. I wish they would add some kind of chicken instead of that chicken parm. It's still the worst buffet in AC, but head and shoulders better that what I experience around 2019 at their old buffet location where 80% of the patrons were smart enough to just eat only the crab legs unlike me.

did they actually ran 10/20 limit holdem with half kill?

Below is my recent experience at Harrah's:

********************************************

On January 31st 2025 at approximately 1PM, I checked in at the reception desk of Harrah's Resort in Atlantic City NJ for a two night stay in a non-smoking room in the Bayview Tower.

The moment I entered the room, the stench of cigarette smoke hit me like a punch in the face. There was NO WAY I could stay in this room! A woman from housekeeping was cleaning nearby, so I called her over and asked her about the smoke and she said that she had sprayed air freshener but that's all she can do. So I picked up the phone in the room and (without touching ANYTHING else) called the operator who routed my call and after some confusion and a ten minute wait, I spoke with someone who transferred my call to a female voice that greeted me with:

Woman: "Hi! I understand that you are calling to verify the non-smoking status of your room?"

Me: "Uh... no! While I did reserve a non-smoking room, regardless of the technical status of this room, I CANNOT stay here. It REEKS of smoke! I checked in just this minute and I need to change rooms!"

At this point, I thought I would hear "I'm very sorry sir! Let me electronically assign your key-card to a different room and please accept our apologies!"

BUT INSTEAD.... the following happened:

Woman: "Well, you need to contact housekeeping and only if they say that they can't do anything about the smell, then you can change rooms!"

Me: "It just so happens that I already spoke with housekeeping and they can't help me. But why is this an issue? When I reserve a non-smoking room, that doesn't mean that I'll accept a room that has been labeled "non-smoking" but smells like an ashtray! I need to change rooms! I can't stay here! Why are you arguing with me?"

Woman: "Well sir, you have to understand that sometimes the ducts in our ventilation system may move smoke from smoking rooms into non-smoking areas."

Me: "Uh... while that's fascinating, it doesn't change the fact that I can't stay in this room! Please change my room!"

Woman: "I can't do that sir, you need to go back downstairs to reception!"

Seething with anger, exhausted from my trip, and stinking from the non-smoking room, I head back downstairs. The line is 20+ people deep but the head of the line takes sympathy on me & lets me jump in front. Aware that I might "lose it", I keep my story short and just tell the woman at reception that my non-smoking room stinks of smoke and I need to change. She tells me about how I need to talk to housekeeping! I ask for a supervisor. He listens to my story and CALLS housekeeping to verify it! Finally, he makes the change and puts me in another Bayview room. I admit that at this point I did vent my frustrations on him but I'm sure he's just following some bizarre policy that effectively treats the customer like "the enemy"!

To recap: Harrah's:
1) Rented me a defective product
2) Refused to accept my word (effectively calling me a liar) and insisted housekeeping verify it
3) Argued with me (including lecturing me on bizarre "ductwork and smoke")
4) Forced me to go back to reception and argue again.
5) Called to verify my story (again calling me a liar) like it's an investigation!

This policy is insane!
It's as if the moment I accepted the room assignment, Harrahs no longer gave an expletive about me! They didn't care about my problems and were actively trying to make my stay even worse by humiliatingly having me argue with multiple people simply to get what I paid for!

What is my motive here? Do I have a "room-change fetish"? I just want the exact same type of room without the stench! Why am I being treated in such an adversarial manner? I felt like I was being questioned and bullied by the police!

Furthermore, who would listen to an explanation of the physics of "smoke drift" and (based on that) decide to spend two nights inhaling filth? Where does it end? What if my toilet was spewing fecal matter? I'm sure toilets malfunction from time to time but would they tell me that I "need to understand that the plumbing can be very difficult to get working" and suggest that housekeeping spray some air freshener on the growing pile of excrement!?

What if other companies acted that way?

What if you ordered a large pair of pants from Amazon but when they arrived, they were tiny and actually labelled "large". What if Amazon asked if I was calling NOT to exchange the pants but to "verify the size of the pants"? Would they say that I "need to understand that labelling pants can be very difficult and that technically the pants were labeled large" and then suggest I just squeeze into them and be uncomfortable? Would they insist that they couldn't accept a return until I submitted pictures of myself wearing the pants to an Amazon representative and only if THEY think the pants look tight I can exchange them!

My new room smelled fine but there were other minor issues I had with the hotel like:
1) Cleanliness was just OK
2) The refrigerator in my new room was set on maximum which froze my food (I reset the temperature afterwards)
3) Weak water pressure and only luke-warm water in the shower
4) No housekeeping service during your stay
5) They now charge $20 to use the pool

But all of the above minor issues can simply be attributed to apathy and neglect but I'm frankly at a loss why Caesars would create a policy that seems designed to belittle, offend, alienate, and anger its customers.

I can't see myself ever staying at this property again.

Was there any poker?

Not switching rooms right away is crazy. I've never had a problem getting a different rooms when something was wrong with it. Id be super pissed off too at how this was handled.

I've learned my lessons with hotel refrigerators. Always check the setting it's on as I've had stuff frozen also.

Agreed on their shitty showers.

I generally opt out of housekeeping because I don't want them to wake me up. If I need stuff or need the room cleaned after a few days I call down for it. No idea why you'd need it for a 2 day stay.

“Below is my recent experience at Harrah's:”

And the entire thing is about a bad check in.

Yes they messed up a little. But they did make it right. Could they have done better sure. It compared to my stay there a couple of yr ago this was great.

Have you ever had a Wifi issue? On 2 trips of mine in the past 3 years the Wifi in the room didn't work. I have multiple devices and it didn't work on any of them so it was clearly on their side. I have stayed at Harrahs 50+ times so it's not like I don't know how to easily connect to it. Once you check in they tell you it's an IT issue and to call IT and won't switch your room if your Wifi is out or for any other IT issue. I literally connect to Wifi immediately upon checking in every time so it's not like I checked in and waited hours to let them know, it's always been immediate. Both times I had to call the IT people and they go through an hour long checklist which has never worked only to have them tell me they added me to a priority list and I will receive a call ASAP on my cell phone from someone higher up. Both trips were 4 days and no one ever called me back. Luckily I had free rooms at Borgata also so I just booked Borgata as well and stayed there.

Welp, staying there in April, will be suspicious, though it's a junket trip from Caesar's, so I have a bit higher expectations than I normally would

nah I've probably stayed there 20 times and never had a wifi issue.
I remember maybe 7-8 Borgata's in room wifi was really hit or miss and it always annoyed me how much nicer Borgata was but they couldn't get their wifi as good as Harrah's.

Idk if it's just gotten better but Borgata's wifi has worked every time for me and there's no limit on devices like Harrahs has. To be fair I've stayed at Harrahs 100+ times and the wifi only hasn't worked twice but both times they wouldn't let me change rooms and it was like a random Tuesday or something it wasn't like they were booked or anything. Just doesn't make any sense to me.

Can’t recall any WiFi issues at Harrahs AC so I assume it was fine my last visit. Also never had an issue at any of the LV locations though much of those were only public spaces use and often I won’t even connect if my phone is getting good cell data service.

Now in Shreveport, NOLA and Biloxi they do or used to (don’t think this is true in new NOLA hotel) have two tier, lo and hi speed. Those have consistently sucked in the past. Since both wife and I are 7* most comp the hi speed (Shreveport did not when was going there a couple years ago) but service was still consistently bad. Once in Biloxi, I needed to attend a Zoom session and the Hi speed (LOL) was so bad I switch to a hot spot from my phone using cell data (and cell signal was meh).

Since my pad is Wi-Fi only I still try at those locations if I take my pad. But for my phone I don’t even try unless cell signal is really bad.

What? You didn't see the roaches?

I’ve always had decent stays at Harrahs. Usually in one of the towers by the pool and near the Starbucks.

Just got back from a chartered trip from here, and the play at 1/2 and 1/3 on Friday and Saturday night felt like I was back playing in 2005, including:

- UTG+1 5-bet backjamming AIPF into 3 people with A9o for 100bb
- SB declaring he was all-in blind for $200 pre, and several people claiming to have limp-folded AK and 99
- Several people double-flatting for up to $80 pre
- J4o calling down pot bets on 3 streets on AJKQ2 vs A3o
- Saw JJ 4b or 5b jammed AIPF for 150bb+ multi-way several times
- Never saw a single person order a coffee in 18 hours of play

Are they doing the tier multipliers still? I would be interested in slamming some video poker next time they do it.

I think AC was part of the 10x multiplier that just ran.

I have never seen a tier multiplier that involves poker.

by NYCNative m

I have never seen a tier multiplier that involves poker.

As long as you play some qualifying games (200 tier credits of slots, 300 tier credits of poker for example), you get the multiplier on everything (in practice, not in theory).

I have never seen a tier multiplier that involves poker.

Never really know if poker counts, sometimes it does sometimes it doesn’t. At least that’s how it works in Vegas and you never really know until after the fact.

Have had multipliers that specifically say poker does not count just to have it count anyways.
