What golf gear did you buy today?

Couldn't find a thread like this. If there is one, i apologise. But thought it would be interesting to see.

How much of the low spin can be attributed to club design? I assume game improvement clubs or super game improvement clubs spin lower than a players iron or a blade, in general. Is it realistic to seek the full spin levels from the more forgiving clubs?

A little, game improvement clubs will spin less than players irons. But the problem also stems from his low launch angle. It's not like if we put him in Ping Blueprints that the spin rate would magically be OK when also measured with the other factors.

All these numbers have to work together regardless of type of iron. A game improvement iron is suppose to launch the ball higher even though it has less loft. That's why it works.

Clicked on an ad for Puma golf pants this week. $115. Then, for fun, checked out Travis Mathew pants. $150.

Who on earth is paying this much for pants???

Not me. Just had these delivered…..

But did you buy them? This is the what golf gear did you buy thread. 😃😃😃

I guess Puma can charge that much because everybody for some reason wants to be Ricky Fowler. And people consider TM a status symbol although it is really good stuff.

In the words of Billy Crystal, it’s better to look good than to play good. And you look….. mahvelous!

Bought these 2 months ago, but I think they are still on sale.

I'm more of a Nike fan with everything except for socks.

Honestly I pay £105 for Macade joggers. They fit really well good quality. The only down side the pockets are like a mesh/net material, Tee's wear it away and eventually get a hole in the pocket. I've learnt to put tees in my back pocket. Also the button to fasten them came off on one of them.

They did have a deal where you buy 2 get one free or something can't remember exactly.

First pilgrimage of the season to the large golf shop. Didn't buy much, just a couple inexpensive gloves and a dozen sacrificial balls for my upcoming trip. I was curious if their inventory would be way down as this weekend is the golf show in Detroit and they usually have a massive booth, but I didn't notice any dropoff at all.

It's barely above freezing but the sun was out and the place was packed. They've got sims and a heated range, both were super busy. Lots of people buying gear. A couple of the local courses are opening for walking this week, pretty clear that everyone has serious spring fever.

sounds similar to heading toward local casinos and being inadvertantly discovered with your nose awkwardly suck in zippers of high roller tents

I picked up these FootJoy hyperflex shoes and can't believe how comfortable they are. I had the model from a few years prior and compared to these, it felt like I was walking on rocks.

those do look pretty cool

Bought a new driver today after using the Ping i20 for the past 11 years. Hit multiple different drivers with various shafts. Ended up picking the Callaway Elyte Triple Diamond, even my mishits were 10 yards further than the other ones.

After hitting multiple brands I had it down to Ping G440 and Triple Diamond. My average yards were better with the Callaway and spin rate with Ping was never below 4000 and with the Triple Diamond it averaged 2500.

Picked this up online as I want 48/52/56 for my wedges and this guy matches my others. (Clyde is a photo-bomber.)

This isn’t new, but it’s not pre-1975 like my other 2 putters (both Pings.). It has been regripped and extended 1.5 inches and will now be in my bag. At least until I decide to make a change.

stereotyped you as the someone who would game a three ball putter 😃

Upgraded from my Nike V-Pro combo irons to Titleist T100's. 4/5/6 irons are T150 bent to T-100 lofts. Hit every brand during the fitting and probably 500+ golf balls. Final 2 was between the T100s and Srixon. It was close but felt the T100 was bit more solid on miss hits.

Funny thing going into my driver and iron fittings I had Ping G430 and TaylorMade 770s picks for what I wanted and the numbers changed my mind.

Got this today.

Love getting a new bag. I'm going to continue to wear mine down but I'll be buying Sun Mountain again when I do.

I got a black C-130 in May and love it. Fits great on my ClicGear4.0.

Yeah I had a Sun Mountain one before and was very good. However, I think the Ping Hoofer edges it slightly personally. I had the Hoofer Lite 2021 version and it was a solid bag. Was getting a bit worn out few little rips and the strap was starting to come apart. I have the Ping hoofer monsoon as well for the wet honestly though that bag sucks ass. I hate it, hard to get into pockets, obviously built to keep the water out and it does that really well but everything else sucks.

caveat: almost always pushing strapped to clicgear; rarely carry, only ride when mandated by tourney or terrain, but never because torrential rain

i've had sun mountain bags for ages
seasonally rotating between the 3.5 and H2NO
also umbrellas are for mary poppins
the rest of us heaviy invest in gortex

have bagged the H2NO now for a few hundred rounds over a dozen years or so including intercontinental travel and only recently started showing show signs of wear around frequent touch pocket areas and surfaces that face the sky.

was advised by a friend who learned the hard way to never overstuff the pockets with rain gear and stress the zippers - wise words
the rain hood also spreads wide enough to cover clubs without needing to zip it up every time

congrats on your new wedges bebe, i'm jealous
played volkey for decades yet somehow strayed toward callaway max a few year ago, suppose because i was also playing apex irons and hybrids but been thinking recently it may be time to rewind the mixed bag even further
