All we know about V is that he's tight. Is he good tight or bad tight Would he do this with the naked Ad With two pair How does V see H So many questions.
I am not checking this flop, and if I do, it's often to check/raise. We raised pre, flopped beautifully, totally lost control of the hand, and now we are considering folding the second nuts. Why bother raising pre
I raise pre as it's a fine hand to open. I checked flop as there is nothing wrong to check call we have the board covered and are not worried about many turns. You seem to think its wrong to slow play OOP, On the river I evaluated based on my opponent,
So he's so tight that we are giving him credit on the river, but he bet the flop big with a flush draw into two players, including the OR
We've been given no other reads, no HH, no idea how V sees H. Personally, I'm not raising KTs to hit this flop and then play passively.
Maybe we have different opinions on the word tight but from my perspective even tight players will bet the NFD

Of course it's fine to open, but look where your slow-playing got you.
Give us a little more info on this player. What range do you give V pre, flop, turn? River? AdQd? Ad5d? Not much else out there that beats us.
How does V see you?
He can have enough suited connectors to make this a call given pot odds plus the bluffs

Also, if he is tight/passive he shouldn't be betting the flop. If he is tight/aggressive, he should be 3betting pre with any suited A he should show up with π

At this point I had only seen him fold a lot and call a few raises. not much info to really go on. when this is the first time I see him play aggressively I dont have much reason to just assume he is bluffing in this pot.

the slow play is not right or wrong based on the outcome. even if I bet flop and turn I would have likely ended up the same. even tight players will call an open with Axs so id assume he can have all them and maybe a lot of pp and sc

Every broadway card on turn is bad for us as it will fill gutshots. We should deny equity to our two opponents. If it checks through here it's no good for H. Low diamond on turn will kill action as H has all the NFD based on preflop action. We have a redraw when/if we get raised on flop. Our Kd and the board block many better Kx combos.
How often have you seen "tight" players raise in spots like this without the nuts? I rarely see loose players raise here without the nuts.
Pretty much this. All these people saying you need some kind of strong read not to call here are crazy. There is just a huge portion of the 'very tight' 1/2 population that is literally never doing this with worse. How are we getting to 30% if we're not real sure this villain doesn't fall into that category?

There are players in my pool that I might fold this hand to. But thatβs because Iβve played with them for many hours and I know how they play.
Do we actually know that the Villain in this hand is βvery tightβ? My understanding is the Villain in OPβs hand is a complete unknown, who has played tight over a small sample. If this sample is something like 2 or 3 hours, itβs completely possible that Villain has just not had any good or playable hands. With no real showdowns and a small sample, it isnβt a good idea to make big exploits against someone IMO. Here we have the second nuts and are getting a good price so folding feels like a pretty big exploit.

Yes. My image of him being tight is over a small sample. So this could be incorrect if he has just been card dead
