Casino for the movie title connection

I thought the cities may be OK since you can fly there, agree with your first 2 by miles above the others, field and bomb could be ours but easily could not be imo

I’m probably not going to be convinced of Germany or Tokyo just because they can be flown to.

Airports are also called airfields, which is why I think field could be ours. The clue isn’t airport, but it’s not a 2-step connection to say that airplanes are in airfields.

It’s a well-known meme that you can’t say “bomb” in an airplane. Also, airplanes are used to bomb things.

You didn’t react to angel, but angels and airplanes both fly and one of the most famous squadrons is the Blue Angels.

I’m not sure what you mean by airplanes having lots of fans, but airplane engines have fans so I guess it could work. But I wouldn’t consider the “movie fan” connection very compelling.

That said, this clue very clearly is intended to lead us toward a movie title. Between casino and Ray, I still lean casino.

I guess plastic would be on my list somewhere too, but likely at the bottom.

Agree field could be ours as well, I just think it's weaker than bomb and probably fan(which I like for the engines as you mentioned but also the many individual fans they have in the cabin itself that people can fiddle with)

Casino i like a lot and certainly over Ray, Ray is easier missed, idk if we should discount it or not - it is a movie still so the more I'm thinking about it the more I think keep it

It’s possible casino is neutral and Ray is ours, but that doesn’t hurt us to find out. Basically, if it’s neutral, then we know Ray is good (so we don’t need it too high on the list). This variant is full of stuff like that.

I agree if Casino is neutral Ray is more likely to be ours, i don't wanna say Ray is more likely to be ours if Casino is but I also don't want to say less likely because it's possible EB saw both movie options out there and it is a 6 clue after all, coulda just been like let's see what all sticks

I'm just so eeeh on field - like yea Airplanes can land in fields, and an Airfield is a thing but our clue isn't Air, while we know airplane fans are definitely things(and big ones at that and a bunch of small ones)

I’ve never been on an airplane that had a bunch of little fans. Are you taking about the vents that people can control at their seats? Those aren’t fans, and I’ve never heard them referred to them as fans.

I also never said anywhere that I like field because “airplanes can land in fields.” Airplanes literally take off and land at places called airfields. Who cares that the clue isn’t air?

Also, we should always have a list before bolding anything.

If this game is dead, I thought of a dumb idea we could try.

Rules:

• You must ask the AI chatbot of your choice/availability for a Codenames clue.
  
• In your question, you may include any number of your wordsand may also ask to exclude any number of words.
  
• Your clue must be the first clue the AI suggests (no asking for another clue, or changing the input words to try to get something better), and your number must be the number of words you asked it to give a clue for. You must use it even if the suggestion is illegal.
  
• Zero clues are allowed, but only if you asked the AI only for a clue that excludes words. Unlimited clues are not allowed.
  
• Teams must guess at least once, but are not restricted by the number of the current clue.

How about "Nations"? It connects Canada and Egypt as countries while staying broad enough to not include unrelated terms.

Seems pretty straightforward. "Nations - 2" it is.

Absolutely! Here's a suggestion: "Sweet curves". It connects to the curve of a horseshoe, the sweetness of chocolate, and the curved shape of a whale's tail.

Here I would be forced to say "Sweet curves - 3", take the penalty, and hope the AI isn't as dumb the next time.

and then you give the clue to a different AI and ask it to make its guesses and you gotta go with those guesses

You could also ask the bot to Lee the clue to a single word so it’s not penalties galore. I just asked Gemini to give me a codenames clue for Ham/Locust/Brick and it gave me “pig grashopper block”

LOL I didn't think the AI would be that dumb. Yeah, "give me a single word Codenames clue for X" seems reasonable.

While funny, that would only have a chance to be enjoyable with 2 person teams.
