Flopped set in a straight draw board, stupid enough not to deny equity or just xc at the river for SD :(
NGL, I was hoping to hit a Full House, so I slow-played. Check call on the river was the best IMO, I have to be better at reading whether the turn/river cards are favoring whose range. What would you have done better?
have a good day ahead guys!

I really think it's a close decision on river as you need to be good about 35% of the time. It's not inconceivable a short stack fish would shove there with qx or 2 pair. Probably I would lean towards a fold based on tendencies of micros.

Can u tell me more about this?
I would call if I'm sure that my range is tighter than theirs for short stack all in. They're punters and I love them on the table.
I'm definitely betting the turn here
Check-Raise flop ~3-4x, bet turn ~1/2, go allin river(would have like less then 20bb left)...
Why are you being fancy vs fish?
Be greedy vs fish, no need for balance/fancy BS.

I thought that they might overfold. I'm actually trying it now in my latest session, I hit a lot of low 2 pairs//sets ending up scaring them away using some overbets on turn/river. Its actually quite good, they would call big blockers for turn card draw (big value)
I would be greedy if they are loose

If you are worrying about overfolding you probably should not raise by river, don't think they would be calling with any worse hand there if that's the case.

Yeah but quite thin value isnt it? I really enjoy aggressive poker over being passive until u do blunder moves. I think its good to adjust based on the situation, I'm still trying to learn more and trying to adjust different styles to different players. I think best here is to overbet/raise turn. Or check raise flop
When you set mine with a low pair, do NOT slowplay when you hit your set. This flop is perfect for a check raise. Villain will have a lot of overpairs with the low rainbow board and may even continue with overcards thinking you caught top pair with some trash combo and want to deny equity. More generally, when you hit the set, you want to get paid. You want all the chips in the middle and the best way to do so is aggression on the early streets.
Don’t be results oriented. If you got all the chips in the middle and get beat on a run out like this, it is NOT a mistake on your part. You should be looking to play for stacks here. You just got unlucky.
