Seeking playtesters: Awesome new No Limit game
Hello everyone,
I'm looking for players who want to try out during a cash game and review here a new NL poker variant.
1.
See this is the problem. You're refusing to clearly explain the rules to us. You say early position gets to choose the cards/slots that are activated. What does that mean? If you and I are heads up and you're first to act and you replace a card in slot 1, does that mean I can only replace the card you put in slot one or can I replace a card in slot 3? Key details like this
There are not "two permanent board cards". Each round of replacement only three cards on the board can be replaced but on round 1 it can be cards 1,, 2, and 3 and on the second round cards 3, 4, and 5 . In theory if during a round players only changed one slot 4 board cards are not replaced that round. Assuming I correctly understand the rules.

No, no. There ARE "Two permanent board cards". Although you don't know which those will be until all 3 slots are activated. Check out both graphics I made (post #1 and post #26). They will both help you understand the rules.
“He built the wall so he knows every detail of the wall so that’s why he can ZOOM from one side to the other.”
6 handed plays like holdem.
Why not discard 1pre 1post and 1 turn leaving us with a 2 card NL hand.
I replace a board card make the nuts and someone’s like naw. 3s=4 hearts now.
This game seems like a fever dream I have as a dealer
Making this image was torture yet you think you’re gonna be able to launch this as the next big poker game?
The image did make it understandable but it’s still too complicated and more importantly too slow to catch on, you’ll be lucky to get 15 hands an hour live
It's the same thing as having temporary nuts on the flop in NLHE - turn and river can change that into a losing hand. You should look at it as if it was some kind of a draw, it may be successful and may be not. All your hole cards should be ready (connected) for alternative scenarios if you want your hand to be really strong.

It was torture because I had to simultaneously think about the graphic design and poker strategy. I tried to keep that hand scenario likely to happen in real life like if it was 2 good players playing. Plus, I had to watch carefully to not make any mistakes. It was really difficult. But I'm glad it made things more clear.
The game will be really difficult to master, so I think only beginners will play very slowly live, good players should play it normally. Maybe + a few seconds for each move.
It sounds like a good game, one of the best of these ideas I've heard tbh. But it's still too different from every other poker format to catch on. Better alternatives are side games like the variants of standup game, bomb pots, 7-2 game, stuff like that.
So you created a heads-up 5 card pineapple game where discards become community cards?
You're reaching if you think you struck gold.
If you type 'super simple rules' one more time, I am going to reach through your computer screen and strangled the f*** out of you.
Great, now I am tilted before my game tonight and I haven't even played a hand of poker yet!
BTW -

Nice troll

Thank you. The game is only a few days old, so maybe that's why it seems so different. After all, the showdown is exactly the same as in Texas Hold'em.

It's not only heads up, it's 2 - 9 players as mentioned in post #1 😀
Pineapple is completely different - there's pre-flop, flop, turn and river, less hole cards, no board cards replacing 😀
I've been "reaching" for almost 18 years and I'm betting my entire work on this particular game - Triple Slot Poker 😀
The devil is in the details. The game would be absolutely nothing interesting or would even be unplayable if players could use all 5 board slots or if the board was dealt 3-1-1. But the fact that they can use only 60% of the board which they can choose step by step right from the start, makes a huge difference. It's that one little spot where you should concentrate your analysis on and imagine some examples, etc.
This game is like a huge water. It's beautiful. I can hear the distant waves. I'm in love with it. I want to play it, but I can't do it in my country. What else can I do. Only deal example hands with cards and look for playtesters here, which I'm currently doing.
The word awesome appears to have changed definition
I was so excited about this new poker variant that is about to take the world by storm that I haven't slept in 3 days. I have been working 24/7 on strategy. I went to my local card room today to tell them to start spreading this new game. They said nobody will play it. I said "If you spread it, they will come". Unfortunately, they laughed me out of the joint.

If you’re trolling you got me but I’m all in at this point:
- it won’t just be difficult to master , it will be difficult to learn at all relative to other games.
- if it’s difficult to master , most players won’t be good players, so even if the good players play normal speed, the game will be slow.
- a big part of what holds PLO back is the slow speed live, and that’s just for dealing 2 extra cards, and more hands that go to river. You’ve created a 5 card game, that also involves having to take additional actions (replacing community cards.) I reiterate, less than 15 hands per hour
9 handed would be brutal. Every round every player puts one of their cards on the board?

I'm not trolling. Actually I'm far from being a troll, this thread is very important to me. I might joke or laugh sometimes etc., but the game is a top priority thing to me.
15 hands per hour, but at a 9 handed table and they all go at least to the 4th betting round - only then I can agree with this estimation. This would mean the pots will be big. So less hands, but also less folds and bigger pots.
Yeah, but how often do you get all 9 players into the 2nd betting round, not to mention 3rd or 4th. 1st betting round would eliminate about 5 players at least, I assume. Of course it slows the game down a bit, but waiting is a normal thing in live poker.

Using only 60% of the board. Wouldn't hero have AAAQ10? vs. Villains flush? Also, why is Hero discarding an Ace holding AA10 after 3rd?
I don't think Hero, Villain, OP, or anyone in this thread knows wtf is going on.

Fortunately, I still do know what is going on here 😀
Using 60% of the board means using the slots for replacement (3 out of 5)
In showdown, you can use from 60% to 100% of the board, same as in Texas Hold'em. (3, 4 or 5 out of 5)
So HERO placed the Ace of Spades in slot #2 to make a full house and to make a flush draw for his opponent. Luckily for HERO, VILLAIN did have a flush and that's why he made the call.
SLOTS = CARDS, but using SLOTS (replacement) is something different than using CARDS (showdown). It's just terminology, don't worry that I'm still trying to complicate things. It's just the way these words work.
Basically you would never play this game out of position.
after reading the whole thread, this is your simplest game yet.
i'll have to try it. sign me up.
The earlier your position is, the bigger the chance you'll be choosing which slots will be activated. In HU for example, when OOP you're guaranteed you'll choose 2 out of 3 slots, if you only want. In 9 handed, UTG always chooses 1 slot, and UTG+1 and UTG+2 can always choose at least 1 slot if they want. This can be a real advantage. And if you get very good hole cards, you simply can't fold.
