8/16 KQs UTG 7 handed
Local casino had a 1k HH promo today, the only time 8/16 games get going. I decided to play.
More raising and 3! than 4/8, but we had a maniac playing almost every hand, raising 3 betting lite pre, and a couple other not so good players. One solid player to my right and couple meh types.
The maniac was drinking and didn't even realize his flush was a HH SF and he got 1k for it. And promptly fed it to the table along with another 1.5 k or so over about 5 hours.
V1 is one of the meh players, v2 is solid to my right.
7 handed I open with KQs spades. 4 callers.
Flop is K86 with 2 diamonds. Check to me, I bet 3 callers.
Turn is J of diamonds. Solid V2 bets out of his BB. I call, V1 calls, fold.
River is another J. V2 checks, I check, V1 now bets, V2 folds, I call.

Sure
itβs a massive pot you have to call
sounds like a great game though
I probably call in a vacuum. Whether you call or not over the course of a year probably won’t have a significant effect on your results.
I can make a case for raising the turn but I’m of course outcome based. V1 if he had a flush probably would have raised the turn and we know V2 was FOS leading on the turn.
Do you know anything about V1's play other than "meh"?
He was tighter than most pre and passive. cc'd too many raises though. Quiet MA Hispanic, got obnoxious with server when they lost his food order because they were busy. Can't blame him for being upset but he handled it like a pouty child. Not sure thats relevant but goes to temperamant and demeanor. He didn't take drawouts well.

I thought about raising the turn but felt my hand had enough show down value and didn't want to have to fold to a 3! from either V.
On a side note, for the first time I can ever remember, I made quads twice in one session. Flopped Quad 6s before the promo started and runnered quad Ts when quad Qs were up on the board.
Negative Promo variance.
I don’t think I’m ever considering folding here. As V1 bets River when everyone checked to him and didn’t lead into you, if you were IP, makes it an even more slam dunk call.
Only decision point in this hand is whether to raise turn.
