NL IMHO is also boring but I’d rather play in a boring game where I can make money than a LHE game that’s a card catching contest.
Eh, sure, if you need the money and that's why you play. But not if you're mostly playing for fun. Hell, I play to pay the bills, and I would rather get a real job than play NL for a living.
If your intentions are to play poker on a regular basis I would suggest learning how to play other games like NL and PLO. The Gardens even has a half five card Omaha, stud 8 or better game on a regular basis. Sometimes the medium stakes LHE games in a casino can be terrible in California and it’s nice to be able to play something else that looks better.
Well considering my nitty online NLHE results I would fit right in at my local 1/2 NLHE game. I read a couple PLO books last summer and put in about 7k online hands(broke even) before focusing more on my live play LHE.
