Suga/Merab in Newark June 7th, interesting

not sure what Suga can do differently this time but makes sense UFC would just give him the fight given lack of star power right now

That rematch was leaked a few weeks back now on a YouTube video showing Sean and Merab talking at the UFC PI. The Kayla/Julianna match is big news though.

I thought Dana's announcement today was a big letdown compared to the one he did back in February with five or six big fights announced.

Looking forward to watching Bryce get murdered tomorrow.

Chandler to beat Paddy tonight seems like a reasonable bet to me with Chandler being the underdog.

If Chandler comes out like he did in his last fight then Paddy is going to have a real fight on his hands rather than some of the bums he has come across (and he really did lose to Jared Gordon).

Paddy gets caught quite a bit and Chandler has power in his hands. Paddy has some good ground game, although Chandler is no slouch in the wrestling department either.

Chandler went from probably smashing a washed McGregor and getting PAID to getting dominated by Paddy Pimblett

not even sure what UFC can do with him from here unless Masvidal decides he wants another check or something

I think Chandler is just washed, Paddy probably a good fade in his next fight

Nah, Paddy's legit. I'll keep betting him to win until I see a reason not too.

I bet Paddy to win but I was surprised by how easy it was for him. He kept Chandler at bay with his jab and Chandler could barely get near him and connect. It was as if Paddy was 6 inches taller and fighting long, but he is barely taller than Chandler.

The most confident bet I had was Yair and I really wish I bet more. Yair kept him at bay with his kicks and length which is pretty much how I thought it would go.

I bet Lopes to win vs Volk because he is taller, younger and has hurt guys with his hands and Volk is coming off two KO losses. Lopes just didn't create the brawling type fight that he needed to win and didn't connect enough.

Looks like that one didn't go in my favour. I had Chandler winning the first round slightly. It looked like his right arm got hurt in first round as he barely threw it. Round 2 was classic Chandler fight IQ.

Paddy is quite tall for the division and his range advantage definitely showed. I'm still not convinced he will challenge the elite of the division. I'm more disappointed in Chandler's performance and he probably should think about hanging up the gloves.

Amanda Nunes coming out of retirement intrigues me. She wants to win the title then defend it.

I wonder if she gets washed twice then will she lose the female mma GOAT title.

interesting that ESPN might lose UFC now, once it goes to open bidding anything can happen

wonder if there is any chance the PPV model dies given how supposedly absymal it has been lately absent of major stars and piracy just becoming more and more widespread

For the UFC main event next week with Garry vs Prates, I'm going with Garry based on level of competition and skillset. Garry can strike but he has a strong grappling background to neutralize Prates. Garry has been in there with tough guys like Page and Rakmanov. Prates is a kickboxer who has put away some known but lower quality guys.

Betting on Garry and feeling confident in it.

Usman committing career suicide on June 14th

surprised Max/Dustin opened at PK basically

Max didn't really get outclassed in his loss 6 years ago, he just wasn't ready for the weight class and dustin had way more power than him

how about Bo Nickal just getting owned, is the era of American wrestling mattering at all just over?

also why is Miesha Tate fighting on fight night undercards in 2025? Shouldn't she be pretty rich now? She's still fine though.

I'm losing faith in some of the MMA betting experts out there. They were all in on Bo Nickal to get another steam roll win. And they picked Misha to win as well. Pretty bad weekend of betting for me.

I really feel that allot of these "pro pickers" try and cover almost every card in order to keep the content flowing but through quantity you really loose the quality, I myself had $1000 on Ian Garry weekend before last, I missed out on the 1.79 early in the week but still took the 1.66 straight and the 3.55 by decision, 500 on both. I watched almost every picker pick Prates throughout the week but although people have varied opinions about Ian Garry, if you want to win a decision with a smart fighter with a gas tank even on short notice he is the guy for it. I am generally better with Australians and have some ques to watch at weigh ins and the ceremonials to look out for, Even the Embeddeds are great if you are truely going to throw around large sums of money,

The last example I can think of was when Pantoja was fighting Asakura, his son was asked at a training session how the fight will finish he said second round which I checked and didn't follow through on, this was 10-1 at the time but Pantoja executed the second round submission after a fairly dominant first. I am always happy to talk and discuss with others about the cards but If I lack knowledge about match ups I can't give a tip if I dont believe in it myself. Happy to discuss MMA or any Australian sport if anybody needs information.

Newts

nobody sharing or selling pics on a major market is beating the market

if they had a discernible edge, they'd be betting it large themselves or working with a syndicate which would

so if JDM wins then Islam is gonna fight at 170? Surprised Dana would want that given Islam is never gonna fight guys like Shavkat or Buckley

Alex Pereira was the last star of the ufc.

This is post Endgame Marvel bad.

The 145 champ moving up is the most interesting fight in the ufc now?

Dana White is a clown.

Ya it is not an exciting era for the UFC at the moment. Not alot of superfights to make. Weak card offerings and tickets pricing out the middle class at live events.

As a hardcore fan the sport is still interesting to me but it is definitely not as exciting as different times/eras of the sport.

And ya Dana is a clown and Power Slap can suck a dick. 2 years in and no one thinks its cool and it is not gaining any new fans.

Been following MMA since 1999 so I took in alot of Breen content on Sherdog back in the day as well.

No definitive answer, but all indications lead to it being related to mental health, addiction and possibly self harm. For sure its a big loss and sad news.

I can't help but want to bet on O'Malley, but is he done/officially a has been if he loses?

No, he's just a guy who would have lost to a better fighter twice.

O'Malley is a weight bully, he really should be fighting at heavier weight classes.

Merab will win, furthering UFC's descent. Hope I'm wrong.
