Bodybuilding Classic Physique Division Offseason log
You know you who it is already. Can't recall my old password or even what email I used so here we are. I promised I'd st
stims still on 300mg caffeine+10mg yohimbine. TBH I feel it a LOT still, I don't think I'll even need to go up until like next month. I'll prob drop it to 150 over the long weekend.
I realize this somewhat contradicts my obsessive focus on looks as a primary driver of mating outcomes but here it goes:
Humans mate assortatively. the "opposites attract" aphorism doesn't hold up empirically. Over what traits do we actually optimize? Are we assortative with respect to physicality? Lifestyle? big 5 personality traits? Yes, but actually quite weakly and not as strongly as you would think.
Over what domains are mating choices most assortative empirically? Educational attainment, intelligence, religiosity.
Women gaslight men into thinking personality is much more important than it is and that physicality is much less important than it really is. But men gaslight women into thinking that education, intelligence, occupational status, and income are less important than what we are really optimizing for.
It's obvious to see how women are either unaware of or intentionally misleading regarding their mate preferences. It's less discussed how men do the exact same thing, but arguably more perniciously with a lot of the manosphere red pill grifters actively telling intelligent women interested in education/career NOT to pursue these things and to get married early instead. Doing so is a great way to reduce their probability of encountering a partner that they will find happiness with.
Just from my own life, the past partners I was most in love with and ruminate over the most were not the most beautiful ones, but straight up the highest IQ ones. The cosmetic surgeon and the girl who self-taught english, took up powerlifting 1.5 years into our 3.5 year relationship, and did her masters in the UK and is now in Australia doing a PhD. A large majority of the girls I dated were far lower than me in intelligence and it felt like the language barrier was less of an issue than "this person's understanding of the world seems primitive and I find them hard to relate to, even if they make me very turgid" and it caused me cognitive dissonance and discomfort.
I'm not smart compared to somebody like Thremp or Dunyian (sp?) or even the typical H+F poster. But relative to the average every day person I meet or the average woman I match with on a dating app? there's a gigantic cognitive gap...
I should keep this in mind if I ever do start actually trying to find a partner (I am not now, but not closed to the possibility).

oh, made it to 2nd round interview. They don't require you to live on campus. Looking at a possible 1.4x of my current income with much higher QOL and better location.
God damn that is chad. Get bitched at over something dumb by one of your managers, tell her "no **** you I quit", keep doing the thing you were getting bitched at for, interview for a new job the next week, possibly hugely increase your income.
Like damn is that a big 'ole FU to her.
Congrats on the impending new jerb, wherever it may be.
Hard to think of a more LOL complaint than walking around with headphones.
I still think you should take a look at Singapore. It's expensive AF, but worth it even for a short time. I guess you just have to make sure of your access to PEDs. I doubt it would be a problem, but I don't know for sure.

I've heard it's easy with Malaysia right next door and still widely used, but by necessity it's still clandestine and needs to be hidden. I'd rather not live in a country where it's explicitly illegal ever again. Here its mostly just out in the open and the rule is "don't export without legal permission, but knock yourself out domestically"
But yeah I've heard mostly good things beyond that about SG.
One thing I'm seeking in the next place I live is like a real bodybuilding/strength sports community. Around this time last year we had a good group of guys and gals meeting up on FRiday nights (Chinese IFBB pro physique + 4 other foreigners + Chinese wellness/figure pro). Then we had a full on powerlifting gym and a rotating crew of around 20 serious competitors just 6km away as well. The community and actually being around other people in your sport face-to-face is just super important not only for being good at it but for getting the most out of it in terms of satisfaction and enjoyment. I'd have to guess SG is among the worst places in Asia for this. I actually do have that in BKK and that's why I go so often.
I think all the t1 cities in China will have that somewhere, just gotta be lucky enough for it to be accessible in whatever part of the city you live in. Somewhere like Shenzhen could very easily have several sub-communities and proper bodybuilding gyms with communities there; Chengdu did. One of my favorite memories was our group of guys going to one of the other bodybuilding gyms and training together and then using the sick ass posing room they had. And I basically got a small crowd of mostly female competitor chicks coming by telling me how amazing I looked (and I actually did look amazing even by bbing standards too so it wasn't just flattery)
I'm very optimistic right now to be honest.
how are you handling questions in the interview about why you're leaving early
Omit headphones story
Tell the truth. I've been assigned 5 subjects over 4 grade levels, most of which i don't normally teach in my school year so far, chaotic management, likely closure within 3 years, low exam scores, over emphasis on trivial irrelevant things that dont accomplish the goals our parents have (exam scores and matriculation rankings) and actively detract from our ability to provide these things to our customers.
I don't know about now, but when I was there it was yuuge. At least yuuge enough that it penetrated the normie bubble I was in.
There were a handful of BBers who were internationally successful (supposedly, based on local news reporting). I actually remember some sort of conflict arose between some famous Singaporean BBers and some semi-famous dude who said that BBing is not a real sport and that they're all a bunch of roided up meatheads. The BBers challenged him to a debate which would have aired on prime time on national TV. Challenge was not accepted, so it never happened.

Would you even have this is most American major metros? I'd say yes, but I'm not clear on how selective you are with respect to members of he serious BBing community.

Don't worry about feeling dumb. There are a couple PhD dropouts I hang out with on a regular basis and feel pretty dumb on random conversations. Tho I did get a rather eloquent explanation of why electromagnetic radiation degrades at r^2 despite it spreading in 3 dimensions. (It expands across the surface of the sphere, which is r^2 and not r^3.)
One thing to note about personality testing, well two things, 1) It is all bullshit 2) obviously it wouldn't show any reasonable correlation when its bullshit. I think personal correlation is like .5 or .6 for a random person taking a personality test across a 4-8 week window. We could neckbeard this extensively, but as a scientific tool it isn't super useful so it'd obviously so very low correlation since most binary tests require some sort of arbitrary binning since most people tend to fall really close to the middle.
why i don't do deadlifts
nsf not for the faint of heart

That was a lot of weight for a skinny guy.
Horrific form throughout tbh and he reaps what he sows. More weight than I’ve ever pulled though

its chick stuff thats at least a step over astrology, but thats exactly why its very poor at being something to measure the assortativity of human mate preferences. Religiosity, educational attainment (proxy for iq or even just g), and political views are fairly good as domains to measure assortativity, so that begs the question: Do these capture something about personality that conventional personality testing doesn't?
I found a new lifeplan (tm) for you:
1. Drop a bunch of acid.
2. Put on some Jeff Dunham.
3. Continue #1 and #2 until Jeff Dunham's entire catalog is uproariously funny.
3. ???
4. Marry attractive 10/10 aesthetics bimbo and live happily ever after.
interview in beijing one time!

95lbs more than me. I never pulled 4 plates. (whatever these weird ass blue 45lbs **** are)

tbf when I say "IQ" I mean "raw mental horsepower"
Which sadly does me a massive disservice since I kill it at the soft "smart people" skills. I'd be happy to do some full autism on this subject on why I punch above my middling mensa ass weight. But I doubt anyone really cares, nor do I believe many of these things are teachable beyond very low level stuff. "Hey be more aware" k solved bigotry. Moving on.
Honestly I'm so far outside the normie bounds of "dating", (And I would imagine you are as well) that I don't think anecdotes are relevant or appropriate. I dated a bunch of runway models, it was pretty k. Then some day after I broke up with a runway model from before, I was leaving the club all sad and lonesome, then I went to the shitty late night eatery where I saw a buddy, ordered way too much food, ate way too much food, then married her.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I feel like you wanna ask all these questions before you even figure out if you like the person. Why? I mean with 14-40 issues in Asia, maybe you need to ask her age and maybe toss a few algebra questions over. But whats the issue?
well, it's about 20% about me and figuring out my own life, 80% understanding this issue of human mate choice and what leads to success vs failure more broadly just for it's own sake.
refeed going bad. nasty sulphur burps and gas the day after with all this unfamiliar food. I may go home a day early
guy you're in your mid to late 30s correct?

I find the discussion about human mating and modernity to be intriguing as well, though I think (for me at least) that neckbearding about it too much back in the day would have just been (another) way of narcissistically self-soothing myself and living in my own head as opposed to actually doing something in reality.
It's fine enough to be blackpilled about hypergamy meaning all the desirable women are ignoring you in favor of getting blown out by strong jawed Bitcoin millionaires like the Winklevii and Thremp and that your terrible genes are making you un****able and that your mom's a bitch because she didn't get you that sippy cup that promoted mewing when you were 9 months old and all that, but ultimately I think this is one of those issues where you should both acknowledge that there is a systemic/societal problem and then promptly ignore that realization as it relates to your own behavior. All anyone can really do is continue to improve themself in whatever way floats their boat because all anyone can do is maximize the hand they were dealt, as bitterness and lack of agency are repellant to pretty much anyone and are pretty easy to sniff out.
Monte spitting truths

Monte, we both know that I know i'm literally top 0.x percent in my mating market and not really struggling. You are somewhat misrepresenting me, probably unintentionally. Attracting women is very different from deciding whether or not to make a lifelong monogamous comittment and making very careful consideration about what one's own preferences actually are and understanding the sacrifice and opportunity cost of such a comittment is very different from bitching about unable to get ladies. Getting married is a big deal. Getting married when you have exponentially more options is a bigger deal and requires more careful consideration. The question of "what drives human mating decisions" and "what results in successful relationships" are related but distinct questions. The first question is interesting for its own sake even if it is mostly "solved"; the second question is what's more relevant to me directly and really only has individual non-generalizable solutions by definition. It's a huge opportunity cost to enter this comittment in the first place and the cost of leaving this implicit contract can also be extremely high, so it seems odd to mock anyone for taking very careful consideration about entering it and considering possibly opting out (not forever). I'd just appreciate that not being misrepresented in the future, though perhaps this was just for the sake of humor.
So my idea was spend the 3 day weekend in Shenzhen chilling, seeing the environment around new prospective schools, and refeeding. Instead I went home early as I've gotten very sick with some sort of stomach thing. I'm pretty sure the culprit was a Turkish halal place ironically. I went home early and haven't really recovered much.
I'm really annoyed because the point of these 3 days was to take a break from 300mg daily caffeine, sleep, eat, replenish glycogen, and dissipate out some systematic stress. I started really hard out of the gate this prep and didn't quite respect the retatrutide's power. I got extremely flat and depleted because I was eating a lot less due to the retatrutide. but now I probably put a ton of systematic stress on my body by getting sick and probably haven't done much to replenish glyocgen as I'm not digesting my food properly due to illness.
This definitely sucks and if I was trying to do a short 12-16 week prep, it probably would have a negative impact on my stage look. But the big advantage of a 22-24 week prep is that you have so much time to allow for things to go wrong like this and not have it really make any real impact on the final stage product.
A lot of my "hong kong" students are just mainland mothers who managed to land a hk rich guy and their parents speak mandarin together and they don't actually speak cantonese lmfao. I imagine this school will be the same. Either way, their English is miles ahead of other places I've been and if the school sets up their time tables in less ******ed British ways they're sure to g
Thanks for that post. I do watch CW's podcasts but did not see this one. Watched it all while on the treadmill. 10/10
