2024 Fantasy Football Thread
Welcome to the 2024 fantasy season, where I'm officially addicted to best ball. I've been drafting since the end of Jan
Question for anyone that uses or has used someone else's rankings. Are you always taking the best ranked player as long as it fills a need or you aren't overexposed already?
Let's say you're picking 27th. There's a player ranked 24, but their ADP is 34. Would you still draft them based on their rank even though it's reaching?
I use the LegUp rankings to have a baseline from people I respect and who spend a lot more time in the weeds than me. But I override rankings and go with ADP/roster construction decisions way more often than not. My decisions are much more based on what I think I can get later compared to now, plus my combo percentages being tracked with SpikeWeek.
It's risky, but Cousins to Cleveland, one time. Then let them draft Hunter at 2.
Mahomes, Tua, Cousins
Bucky, Chuba, Kaleb, ETN, Guerendo, Martinez
JJ, Hill, Rice, Hunter, Palmer, Wicks, MWill, NWI, Atwell
Njoku, Kraft
Got the Carolina dudes at RB. It’s not a bad stance given Canales’s preferred style. I like Rico a lot at cost, even though market soured on him a bit since he didn’t get a 1A job. I think there is a decent chance we take a day 3 back but mainly as depth.
The article is behind a paywall, but you can see the title and the beginning of it.
I think it makes sense to have some exposure to both. I'm pretty happy where I'm at overall. Obviously there's a few guys I'd like to have a little more of (like Achane and Caleb), but I don't feel bad about the guys I have the most exposure too.
Well except maybe 14% AR and 16% AD
All the dbl stacks
Mahomes, Love, Geno
Henderson, Jones, Charbs, Dowdle, Corum, B Smith, Hunter
ARSB, Worthy, Rashee, Olave, Shaheed, Doubs, Wicks, Tucker
Bowers, Juwan
Love it except for all the Saints lol
I feel like the Saints are a big cock tease, but I keep drafting them.
Caleb, Fields, Dart
Mixon, Judkins, Bigsby, White, Guerendo, Neal, Chubb
Chase, Hill, Wilson, Sutton, Pickens, Bech, Ky Williams
Kraft, Kmet, Fannin
That’s what’s scary haha. But a part of me says maybe Carr finally puts it together with Moore. Carr and co. have had some great games. They just haven’t found the consistency, and they can’t stay healthy.
Gave it some actual thought and here's my top 24 (excluding ADP)
Spoiler
Chase
Barkley
Bijan
JJ
Lamb
Gibbs
BTJ
Nico
Nabers
Amon
Achane
Bowers
Ladd
Jeanty
JT
Puka
AJB
London
Jacobs
Hill
CMC
JSN
Terry
Wilson
Fun list. Down on Puka after the Adams addition? Is his ADP mid first on DK too?
It might have something to do with how drafters handle QBs on DK, but I'm really liking my 2 QB builds way more than my 3 QB ones. Not realizing Hollywood was still available before clicking Kincaid is the only thing I'm not too happy about.
Mahomes, Caleb
Walker, Warren, Mason, Javonte, Guerendo, Giddens, Hunter
Nico, Ladd, DJM, Rice, Aiyuk, Tre, Bech, Slayton
Kincaid, Kmet, Gray
Saw that Kerrane is at like 30% bowers and high on McBride as well.
I like their current prices too, but am struggling to take high amounts because of the uncertainty in the rb landscape… in the early 100s, RBs are terrible imo, but qb and te is really good, which makes me want to take RBs early and late and TEs/qbs in the middle
Do you guys think Bowers/Mcbride prices rise once the rb landscape clears up post draft and it’s easier to build 0rb? Or will their prices hold meaning I can get my shares later?
Are you guys thinking about it the same way ?
FWIW I’m at exactly 8% of both
Kerrane is over his skis on Bowers and McBride lol. I plan to be around 12% each, but I am never going 20%+. The highest I really ever want to be on any single player, especially the high priced players, is 16%. But that's just the way I want to play with the volume I'm putting in. 16% of 1,000 drafts > 32% of 500 drafts.
I do think Bowers/McBride are more valuable in the 18 round contests too, since being able to stop at 2 TEs provides more roster flexibility. Being able to comfortably go 3-4 in the 20 round contests, helps with pushing TE.
I do agree TE/QB have a lot of great prices in the mid rounds.
I normally hate my builds from the 1.01, but I can work with this one.
Fields, Maye, JJ
Walker, Jones, Judkins, Kaleb, Guerendo, B. Smith
Chase, Tee, Wilson, Flowers, Shaheed, Wicks, Bech, Nailor
Gesicki, Henry, Fannin
What do you guys think of starting with Chase/Terry/Jayden since the chances of Burrow making it to the 4/5 turn are so low?
Current ADP on DK is 29 for Terry and 33 for Jayden.
I don’t like it, but I get it
Caleb, JJM, Rodgers
Bijan, JT, Javonte, Dobbins, B Smith
DJM, Rome, Addison, Pickens, Hunter, Keenan, Ayomanor, K Williams, Horton
Jonnu, Njoku, Arroyo
Too light at rb even with Bijan / JT?
Maybe Saquon/Terry/Jayden since you get that divisional correlation, but then you're reaching on your first 3 picks. Gross lol
Caleb, JJM, Rodgers
Bijan, JT, Javonte, Dobbins, B Smith
DJM, Rome, Addison, Pickens, Hunter, Keenan, Ayomanor, K Williams, Horton
Jonnu, Njoku, Arroyo
Too light at rb even with Bijan / JT?
I would've gone for 6 if taking Javonte since there's a decent shot the draft doesn't do him any favors. I could see stopping at 5 if your RB3 was in that Tracy to ETN range.
Maybe pass on Njoku and take a RB there? Mason would've been sexy if he was on the board.
