New fast food discussion/review thread
OK OOT, it's been a while since we had a devoted fast food thread around here and I think it's time we had a new one.

Had a McDouble from Rick's yesterday. Was pretty disappointing. Tossed ~half of it without finishing. Fries were pretty good though. Fresh, but very salty, too.
Had a hot-n-spicy McChick (free) earlier this week. While not a great chicken sammich, it was much more satisfying than the McDub. Might stick with that from now on.
Mcdoubles have been suboptimal for a while, hot and spicy.mchicks have always been mediocre IMO. That's where the daily double + pickle mustard and ketchup comes in!
Regular McChickens are great too!

I've had the idea for a fast food road trip. Not sure where to start, but I googled something and this chain called biscuitville which is apparently all over north carolina. they do both mcdonalds style hash browns and potato wedge type fries which look to be extra crispy which I love: As an example, north carolina gives you cookout, Bojangles Hardee’s Krispy Kreme Smithfield’
Vegas has a lot of them, including In n Out and Wienerschnitzel.
I think it depends on personal taste, I've only been to the one here one time, and I don't plan on a second time.
But Subway doesn't even use real bread.

I remember when Subway use to cut a wedge out of the top of the roll to make a sandwich. Versus today just cutting it in half like everyone else.
Subway is literally alone on the list of places I would turn down a free meal. JJ's and Firehouse are not much better. Jersey Mikes and Capriottis are the only places I order a sandwich from.
A Bojangles just opened and a Zaxby's is also being built near me soon. Unless the prices are going to be more expensive here versus the Georgia location I used to check pricing it looks very reasonable. Wing and finger prices are insane these days. I've gotten terrible food poisoning the last 2 times I went to Cane's and swore them off so it'll be nice to have a replacement for that.

Toasting improves JJ's subs immensely. A true game changer. I'd still rather get JM's. Haven't had Firehouse in a while, always thought they were pretty solid.
Slop enough mayo on it and anything looks like tuna.
The tuna lawsuit was dismissed by the plaintiffs, Subway's PR slappies say they use 100% wild-caught tuna. Uh huh.

I'd be curious as to p4b's particular triggers that turn them off. Like, my father in law supposedly doesn't like Wendy's. I don't understand that, even if you disliked one thing there would for sure be something else on the menu that they'd eat. If they're eat a mcdonalds cheeseburger wtf is wrong with the redhead
Like when ppl say they hate mcrick's, they'll usually qualify that with i do like the fries or whatever. Like to dismiss culver's as an entity, with it's butter burgers, frozen custard, chicken tendies, seafood, concretes and frozen custard, are you telling me none of that sounds delicious?!?!?
EDIT: CULVERS HAS REUBENS, CORN DOGS, BEEF POT ROAST, PORK LOIN, VEGGIE AND GRILLED CHEESE SANDWICHES! What in the holy selection!
cheese curds, broccoli of all thing, salads, coleslaw, mashed taters n gravy, chili, its the the cheesecake factory of fast food. None of this pleases p4b?!?!?

it could be that culver's is the in n out equivalent to hype n whatnot. I see they have basic crinkles but that must outclass INNOs garbage tier fries

Wendy's is okay. Sometimes it's really good. I don't much like how mushy the burgers are. It's almost like they aren't cooked. I know that they are, but sometimes the texture bother me.

Reuben? Ugh. Corn dogs? I can get at Sonic. Pot roast? Ugh, no. Pork loin? Maybe, but I don't like pork in general. Grilled cheese? I can make myself.

Cheese curds and broccoli, you'd have to pay ME to eat. Salads, coleslaw, mashed taters I get for cheap at Walmart. Chili, I have 20 cans of Hormel's that I got at Walmart. I've checked the menu at Culver's before. It seems the same.

The 2 FF chains I wish were in So Cal (San Diego) are Culver's & Zaxby's. Whenever I'm traveling I try to hit them up if they're available. I have a couple of trips coming up to Memphis and Minneapolis and I'm hoping to find them.
they just built a new Zaxby's by house... I was wondering about them since I love eating Flightless Birds.
IDK, tried a Zaxby's in NC last summer. Not impressed. Really dry, sides nothing special. Maybe I caught a bad day/time.
