2025 WSOP!!
I know itβs early and normally Iβm not excited about WSOP this soon after but dang it, Iβm itching to go back already!
I
Tell that to the tourists who have been denied entry at the border merely because they wrote stuff that was negative about Orange Shitstain. If you wish to say that hasn't happened, all you are doing is proving that the second sentence above is bullshit. You may not have to live in another country to evaluate their sentiment, but you do have to actually listen to the anti-Ora
"... merely because they wrote stuff that was negative about Orange Shitstain..." Please provide additional details.
"...blindingly stupid, or pure evil. ...the only options." You sound like an 86 year old I know that sits around and watches MSNBC all day, then yells at his loved ones for having a differing opinion.
I wish you well, and hope you feel better soon.
Does anyone work in a casino and play the employee event They changed it this year to a more broad category that seems to include any poker-related type of job (influencer, announcer, etc.). I'm not sure why they changed it and what the turnout will be as a result. My brother works at a small casino in Montana and plays this event every year. It's a really good structure at a mi
I think you don't even need to actually "work" at a casino, just have an employee badge. Just offer to get lunch for someone, they can pay you a quarter, and you should be good.
But hey, with the new rule, a bunch of us qualify now. I post on a poker-related message board.
My guess is the resultant turnout will double or triple the size of the field. Reportedly it's the softest field of any bracelet event.
Yeah, I think the quasi-political stuff has taken a turn to crazy town. I think we can all agree there’s a chance the numbers at the WSOP may be down this year. There’s really no sense debating it further. If it comes to pass, folks can decide on their own what the cause(s) were. I’m certain the explanations they come up with will fit whatever outlook they have on the world.
Did anyone play the $800 Independence Day Celebration event last year? Looks like they retitled it "Summer Celebration" this year but it's the same event. I'd be curious to hear your thoughts on how it played. I'm playing the Main this year and was planning on playing Flight C on 7/4. I'm debating going down a day early and entering the second flight of the Summer Celebration on 7/3. If I'm lucky enough to run deep in it, I could always either late-reg Flight C of the ME or change plans and enter Flight D the next day.
I am attending - arriving 6/16 and plan on firing 1K seniors next day. I am a US based rec and mostly a cash player. Likely lower attendance has me a bit concerned ( will likely be recs like me staying away, grinders still coming). Iβve read seniors tourney is more friendly and likely softer field (Iβm an example of both). Worth taking a shot at the potential lightning in a bottle payout.
Cash games are even tougher over past few years - normally a 2-5 player but noticed those games I sat at 2024 WSOP, my local casino and a couple travel spots (Florida, Arizona) have been tougher in my small sample size. Iβve adjusted to playing 1-3 and 2-3, 500 cap games. Still enough juice for this rec. may do some study/GTO sites at some point to elevate my game and move back up in stakes.
Some positives are room rates - was able to grab 5 nights at harrahs for $500 all in. Paris was $900, will continue to monitor leading up as I booked through Caesars app direct. If demand continues to be soft given all factors discussed may even drop further.

I'm heading out on the same day to play the Seniors and the Milly maker, plus some non-WSOp tourneys. I've played in the Seniors the last 4 years and it is indeed friendlier and softer than most fields. There are some good players as well, but overall softer. I wouldn't worry about a potential drop in attendance making the Seniors much tougher, as most of the players in that tourney tend to be recs.
For cash, the WSOP cash games that are held in the tournament area seem to be softer than the ones held in the poker room. At least it seems that way in the small sample size that I've played in. There are other casinos where the cash games are softer, such as MGM Grand... and places that others on here probably know better than me.
Good luck, and enjoy!

Mick7 is spot on regarding the Senior events - just prepare yourself for some unusual beats in the early stages. The Cash games at the Horseshoe were amazingly soft both 1/3 and 2/3. Consider variance so statistically it is meaningless but I played 8 sessions last year - won every session and averaged 33 BB per hour. Locally I average 12 over a statistically meaningful sample size. Just a lot of guys who want to gamble and will payoff because they don't want to be bluffed. Only issue for me is getting motivated to play Cash after busting from a tournament. If you happen to be Caesars Diamond status they put you at the top of the waiting list which is also sweet.
Thanks - when I referred to more difficult competition, I was referring to cash games in general. I already know with my lack of tournament experience that Iβm dead money in that arena, but YOLO.
Iβm sure Iβll find suitable cash - will just avoid games that has average stack size < $200β¦thatβs where I draw the βfunβ line.
Someone reached out to KevMath about the Industry Employee Event to see who all that included.
He emailed WSOP and found out that includes vloggers, bloggers, YouTubers, streamers, etc.
He doesnβt know how people will prove it and what WSOP will require. He was asked to reach out for those details but I donβt know if he will or not.
Some people arenβt happy as they see this as a bit of a slap in the face to actual casino employees.
As for me, I just might start a blog this weekend and throw my hat in the ring for that event!
That's a valid point. By virtue of contributing here, do we qualify Who can we ask and what proof do they need
And yes, the field is crazy soft. My brother finished in 16th his first year playing and has cashed a couple other times in it.
We can claim to be influencers. I don't even know what an "influencer" is, by strict definition. WSOP prob doesn't either.

Yup, you never know if the guy across from you with AQs will call your preflop raise or fold so fast the cards would catch on fire. Some seniors are extreme OMC when it comes to valuing hands, that it made it much harder for me to play. One hand I remember, a guy shoved about 10bb, a couple folds, and I have AQo. In most bracelet events I play they are happy to call with just Q high. I almost called, but ended up folding. Shover showed AK and some of the folder chuckled. One guy said he folded AQ in about 1 second. He didn't even consider calling.
Possibly. I donβt want to risk it, though. With my luck, Iβd final table and everyone would come after me with pitchforks for not really being a big enough part of the industry.

Download bravo / atlas and try diferent rooms on the strip. It is a great experience to try diferent rooms and walk around. Also if the caesars poker room is open during the wsop, just walk there (5m from horseshoe), back in the day it was by far the best 1k- game in vegas.

It's SUPPOSED to open mid to late May.
If I made the final table I would be arrested for impersonation of a poker player.
The conversation seems to have dried up. Does this indicate a lack of enthusiasm and maybe reduced attendance for this year's series?
Well, the schedule is out and most people who are planning to attend have probably already made their travel arrangements. I do think that barring an economic reversal, turnout will drop this year because of financial strain and political tensions, but it feels like there's nothing in particular to discuss for many of us who are still attending. We are just in the waiting phase.

Pretty much this - Iβll be there for 3rd time in 4 years. Wonβt be surprised to see less people - but since Iβm a still a relative WSOP newb who only goes for 3-4 daysβ¦will I be able to tell/notice? I have seen a lower room rate, same flight costs so far. Maybe wait lists for cash games will be a bit lower should I wish to shift casinos? Time will tell - am looking forward to it.
Yeah i'm definitely just in the waiting phase, 23rd June can't come quick enough lol
