2025 WSOP!!
I know itβs early and normally Iβm not excited about WSOP this soon after but dang it, Iβm itching to go back already!

I would register with cash the night before or early am, the line as I've observed in the past can be very very long.. especially for the big field low buy in events..I refuse to stand in line for hours waiting to get a seat for an event that's already started.
Do I need to bring cold hard cash for cash games or can I get get chips using Luxon/PayPal?

I think thats only for tourney registration, I could be wrong. There is always the ATM but you pay for the privilege of withdrawing your $$. Cash games are certainly very good and can be quite profitable..
So basically it is the same, just one extra step with the app. I just go there pay cash the previous night, then go to the verification line after, and the next day go straight to my assigned seat through the app. Yeah not bad
It took me like 95 seconds to download WSOP+app, register, verify my registration thru an email. Super easy.
While those on this page likely enjoy/love pokerβ¦.times evolve. If having a free gmail account and a smart phone arenβt in the cards for youβ¦.then maybe traveling to Las Vegas for WSOP (or any other time) isnβt something you should be doing either.
And I say this as someone old enough to get lower food rates at Dennys, IHOP and Kohls (on wednesdays). Embrace some change, learn something new, go to registration areas early AM (we know weβre all awake as OMC) or later at night and allow for a few extra minutes to register for our first tourney.
I'm happy to see that they moved the $1500 Limit Holdem away from the Mystery Bounty weekend; hopefully the attendance will start going back up.
Well it seems CET / pokergo has opened up a loop holes in their late event cell phone/coaching ban. Rules 63 and 64.
$1500 worth of rolled quarter-dollars weighs about 75 pounds. I'll have my valet carry that to the cage when I register.

In your phone settings, you can remove text message preview notifications.
However, if someone is opening low stakes cash games to angle and allow for electronic communications per the article, yes that'd be hard to prevent.
Will they issue "loaner" tablets to players wishing to play on WSOP.com or wager on Caesar Sportsbook App as a preventative measure? Most likely NO.
That accommodation would cut into their overhead which seems to be a large factor for moving to WSOP+ app.
The "stories" feature on the WSOP+ App also seems like it could be cryptically used for RTA.

If they clearly stated that using RTA would result in disqualification from the tournament and forfeiture of the buy in, plus a lengthy ban from the WSOP, Iβm certain all of that would go away. They just have to enforce their own rules. Itβs not complicate.

Fully agree. Enforcement is the crux of it all.

All this stuff is a needless overreaction. There’s only one tournament where this really matters, the Main Event. And doubtful anyone will be playing the $500 wsop summer saver at final three tables.
Just put in the rules things that give them clear authority to police incidents such as Tamayo incident however they deem necessary. But I’m thinking there probably wasn’t a need as TD has much discretion and it’s not like Tamayo has a right to talk to spectators and look at laptops without it being explicitly spelled out
The most concerning stuff can easily be knocked out and there probably wasn’t any new rules required to do it.

Yes, but this most recent decision needlessly makes that enforcement all the more difficult.
Rules 63 and 64 were two steps forward now they are taking 1 step back.
I have looked at a lot of $400 to $600 tournaments coming up and by far the best structure is the $500 Colossus, and of course the $1500 Monster stack is even better. Of course, I haven't looked at all the different ones from all the casinos.

The Mini Main is an actual tournament, but spiritually I think the Salute, Colossus, Deepstack Championship, Monster Stack, and Milly Maker are the real Mini Mains. In the <$2k price space at the WSOP, these give you the best approximation of huge field, good structure, diverse player pool, and mega payouts.

It's all the same rules about the cell phone rules. Technically, you can't use a cell phone during a live hand anyway but how often do you see a dealer not say anything and people are just finishing texts, watching something etc. Every so often, you'll get mr. Dealer enforcer and they say it every 10 seconds to put down the phones and they're treated like the bad guy by the players.
My local casino actually hasbcompletely banned phones during a live hand like it's supposed to be. They literally will not deal/stop dealing if anyone is using their phone or even if it's visible in plain sight. Rules back in the old day. It slows down the game so much because people are addicted to their phones.
(This was because half the staff got written up since there was a group of cheaters that came by with phones/pinhole cameras at the 5/10+ game).

Yeah both the Milly Maker and Monster Stacks are like mini main structures because of their 60 minute levels. It's really all about the level length, never the starting chips (assuming everything else is the same, no skipped levels etc).
For the lower buyin, I would argue the 600 pokernews deep stack is better structures than colossus.
It's 40 minute day 1 and 60 minute day 2 when it really matters vs 40 minutes throughout.
(The s Points only goes to level 18 so day 2 levels are rarely represented in the formula)
60 mins levels fo runder2k is pretty damn good but I dont really know structures, I dont think there are too many 1k or below tourneys that have 60 min structures right? seems trhey give you SOME chips t play with too
165 S points seems prety decent

+1 to this. The list of alternates for some of the small buy-in big field tournaments are nuts. I remember last year the line for the Mini-Main Event wrapped around the casino. This year with 2 flights it might not be as bad, but I would definitely recommend registering the night before if you do it online.
Hi. I'm new to the WSOP+ app and registering via PayPal for in person WSOP events. I'm trying to find out if there are any fees for registering via PayPal. Does anyone know? The WSOP registration website page doesn't mention fees for PayPal.

Nevermind, I found the answer in the WSOP+ app FAQs!
I will be curious to see how easy it is to obtain receipts for the tournament buy-ins. These are used in the U.S. for tax purposes.
The registration instructions keep mentioning the “ticket” can be obtained in the app or get printed out at the Verification desk. But who wants to go to the verification desk line in order to print out proof of their buy in?
This is where the kiosks made things really easy and convenient. They could be found in lots of places and the process took less than a minute. It’s a shame they won’t have something similar this year.
So I’ve never used PayPal for anything before bc of all the horror stories. But if we’re talking no fee per WSOP+ app and credit card cashback on a lot of buyins, I would consider taking the risk.
But, it looks like PayPal DOES have a fee of their own for any credit card transaction? Can anyone clarify/confirm?
AI Overview
