You should take is as a compliment. Genorisity is a good thing and you need a lot of it to understand people you disgaree with.
What can I say? I disagree with lagtight about nearly everything, including his noxious views on human sexuality, but I am interested in the subculture of which he is a part.
I guess I got my fill of that sort of thing walking past the campus street preacher in college and/or reading Chick tracts.

Yeah, that is interesting. But also he has a sense of humor and humility, unlike the right wing sociopaths around here. I haven't read his posts as much as some here, but doesn't he seem like an empathetic person generally? Perhaps if he could extricate himself from his religious cult he would be free to be an actual good person instead of following some script of what people thought being a good person meant 2000 years ago.
I would interested to see lagtight and craig in a room together. Both are religious, and both seem to have an attachment to religion that is highly personal rather than institutional, but that's where the similarities end.
lagtight tries to support his beliefs using empirical evidence and logic. And when he gets to a point where he can't support his beliefs through empirical evidence and logic, he fills in the blanks by channeling his inner George Michael and singing "you gotta have faith!"
craig seems to embrace some highly personal variant of Christian mysticism that is barely attached at all to Western rationalism.

I essentially never read craig's posts. They are usually asides that don't advance the plot anyway. I was tempted to read some so I could get into that thing that you and d2 were doing, but didn't. Also, I wondered if you were cheating with chatgtp or some such. Were you?

I agree that he has a sense of humor and can take a punch. His empathy often takes the form of "love the sinner, hate the sin," which can be very, very hard to swallow. That said, I'm sure that lagtight is capable of kindness.
I seem to recall that he had some sort of dramatic religious conversion as a young adult. I don't think he grew up evangelical. I'm sure that he would be happy to tell you. He is very transparent about his religious beliefs and background.
