New fast food discussion/review thread
OK OOT, it's been a while since we had a devoted fast food thread around here and I think it's time we had a new one.
In
Hit up Wendy’s yesterday.
Crispy Chicken BLT biggie bag, upgrade to large fries for 65c more.
Double Stack for $1 w app, add tomato and light mayo for free.
Fries were above average
Nuggets were pretty good but holy **** they are so small now. What’s smaller than a nugget? Because they shouldn’t be called nuggets anymore then.
Both the Crispy Chicken BLT and Double Stack were underwhelming. 4/10 I’d say on the McMuffin scale. Pretty disappointing as I thought this spot was a reliable location (haven’t been in years but back then I had a good meal and witnessed 2 guys with 50 nuggets on a tray — which impressed me.).
ok got my normal $7 daily double meal (plus pickle mustard ketchup) with a bonus free mcchicken b/c of sports.
I can say that after eating the mcdub and fries, the mcchicken was noticably less appetizing. Probably because I'm old and can't pack em in like I used to!
Did the combo 2 days in a row. Dog ate the first days mcnuggets as I left him in the car while I pokered. Didn't seem to affect him!
Sonic has pre-warned us about "corndog craze" coming tomorrow (Wed). No other details, but I think I see a couple of cornies and a cherry limeade slushy in my future.
The Giant from JM is an experience to say the least. But I don't think I could eat one more than once in a while.

Local Carl's has a combo deal with any of their small double burgers (Cali Special, etc), fries, and drink for 5 bucks.

One small benefit of being a regular at a McDonald's that isn't a mass volume machine with no seating: manager hooks up the fries like it was 5 guys.
I place my order and it's ready in 1 minute. #blessed with a local hometown mcds.

they changed the fries thing; before you chose what fries you wanted, then applied the offer. now you apply the offer, choose type of fries, but it defaults to medium. to change the size to large, of course, you have to click customize on the fries.
I'm gonna go with two yumbo jacks for $5. I've had like four daily doubles at mcds in the past couple of weeks, need to vary my ff intake.

Interesting, apparently a Canadian fried chicken chain that looks completely awesome. I'd go try it out but it's too far up there for a visit, and also I think they might be attacking Americans these days.
Glad to see a new fast food discussion thread! Personally, I think Whataburger deserves more hype — their burgers are solid, and the customization options are great. If anyone's curious about their latest items or prices, I put together a site that breaks it all down: Whataburger menu. 🍔🔥

Oh man it is good! Never had a bad meal yet, maybe a item subpar but still alright.
No attacks that I have heard but dont really follow the news, you should be o.k. in Niagara Falls,lol. Unless your name is Trump or a voter of him, would keep that quiet. :p
I tried the new Cajun Chicken Sando LTO at Wendy's. It was funny, I kind of jumped all around on my impression of it - I loved the first bite, then decided it was too mustard-y the second bite, then decided no, I liked all the spices the third bite, then came back down on so much mustard the fourth bite... In the end I decided it was pretty good, I'm glad I tried it, but I'd mostly rather have the original spicy chicken from Wendy's w/ mayo and tomato. (FWIW the mustard is similar to the Popeyes mardi gras mustard IMO, not yellow mustard).
I also threw in a junior bacon cheeseburger as a side dish. Ugh. This wasn't helped by them messing up the order and making it plain (no lettuce tomato or mayo). But holy cow the patty is so small now, and the price is up to $3.29. Not even close to worth it.
Lastly I tried one of the new Frosty Swirls, I got chocolate frosty with strawberry swirl. Was very good IMO, reminded me of the old McDonald's stawberry topping. I also though the price was pretty reasonable at $3.49 for a large (considering McD's is now asking > $4 for a shake IIRC).
