Caesars Poker Room to close for remodeling? mid July
Played today and the word going around is the rooms closing for remodeling. Not sure on the date of closing (heard maybe
PH coming soon is good. that room description is either old or it is coming back to the former space.
hopefully it's back in May when I'm there!!
I thought it was next to "Pleasure Pit" before.
Poker rooms have become Casinos dirty little secret... hidden away and disguised.
During its heyday, MGM grand had the bestest most excellent location.
So awesome that the Planet Hollywood poker room is coming back! And even better that it will be in the mix of the casino floor vs upstairs or tucked away in a corner!
Terrible location you mean. Noisy as hell, and if you lose the seating lottery, you sit back by the kareoke joint. No, you can't sing worth a damn, nobody can.
Played at PH twice I think, absolutely hated the place. The smoke is insane and the floors shake like crazy. I remember me and a friend taking an edible and playing the daily tourney and I was freaking out at first thinking it was an earthquake hahaha
yes sir... that area between the sports book and the night club towards the strip in the circular area. that area was awesome, lots of people watching and lots of action.
Playing there about 20 years ago drunk. My table was on the rail. Went to the restroom, came back, sat down, saw a few hands. All of a sudden some dude comes up and asks me WTF I was doing. Turns out my table was on the rail, on the other side of the room. Kind of hard to know which table you are on when your are buzzed and the room is a circle.
Thats pretty awesome omc...
I played with Brad Garrett and Bill klien in that room many times...
I played with UFC HOFer Matt Hughes there once.

Ah-the MGM room when it was front and center, between the Sportsbook and the Centrifuge Bar-only bummer was the 3-5 minutes at the top of the hour when the staff at Centrifuge had to dance on the bar with the music cranked up to 11.
Logged over a thousand hours here in the 00’s-the best room on UFC nights
Strong possibility we have played Schu-remember Kimmie the dealer?
Dang-was really hoping it would have been on the main floor! But am glad it’s back-will definitely play there on my next trip.

Bar over the poker room sounds similar to the Aladdin. Or maybe it was PHo.
It was the "the games are SO good here!" flavor of the year during my first WSOP trip in 2018.
Well, the games were NOT good and I did not enjoy being out on the floor in the middle of all that chaos.
I subsequently played some WSOP circuit events upstairs, which is a better environment for poker IMO.
Seems promising. I'm glad to see Caesars renewing commitment to spreading poker.
I thought they were trending towards Horseshoe being their only room.
That diamond lounge was awesome. I watched a bunch of NBA finals games there on the couch in the back with the huge TV and great drink service.
Ok the location sucks. Overlooking the pleasure pit? I want to play poker IN the pleasure pit lmao.
Will check it out though.
Since Covid the pleasure pit hasn’t been much of a pleasure pit. Almost all of the dancers are gone. It’s like the buffets ; they are still around since Covid but there are a lot fewer of them.
