Played with John at Stardust a long time ago. He finished second to Stu Ungar in the WSOP main event in 1997 winning $583,000. RIP.

Stu got lucky against him.
He was a regular at Wynn in their Friday $240 rebuy pre-pandemic. Quiet at the table. Most of the players had no idea who he was.
iirc Stuey hit a got shot on river on last hand to beat John.

Strzemp began the final hand with the best hand, A8 to Ungar's A4. He led until a deuce on the river made a wheel for Ungar, giving Stu the victory and his third world championship. Strzemp won $583,000 for his second-place finish.
