Call, 4B or Fold

Depends on dynamics. This is a fold in 1/2 and 1/3 games in the US. There is really no need to put more in. Would only consider other options if villain is 3-betting a lot. Then probably 4!. Don't think you can call with this hand.

Technically you and button should be fairly wide, but the reality is that in low stakes even 3bet ranges of button vs. cutoff are likely very strong, and almost certainly you are significantly behind his range. Seems an easy fold.

CO vs BU your 4bet range is definitely wider than other situations assuming BU is competent and 3bets more than just QQ+/AK

Whether or not to polarize or merge/balance that range depends on villain's likely 3bet range. The tighter they are the more you polarize.

A8s vs the tighter 3bet range might be too high up to be a good bluff candidate of a merged range so calling or folding is better. But even this tighter 3bet range needs to be wider than QQ+/AK unless they're timid scared/MUBSy and would fold all the AK and maybe even QQ with some frequency.

Inverse works if BU is far wider but again, even there it isnt catastrophic to call if deeper stacked at 100bb tho i think its easier to 4bet or fold.

You can't ever call here. In some tournament situations or in like live 10/20 NL you could consider a 4!. I am sure there is more 3-betting in 1/1 games in England than 1/3 in the US, but still a snap fold.

Depends what this opponent is doing with hands like AJo, K9s, 66. It is CO vs button after all, so button could well be extremely wide here, but if they are inclined to do a lot of calling then to 4x you can fold. However some players will do a lot of calling in position, others very little.

The 4x raise isn't ideal, but a suited Ace is a decent hand for 200BB deep.

In a 5/10 game against a pro, you might consider 4! or call. In Europe, there is less poker culture, so they learned to play for correctly rather than loose/passive etc. I don't know how light a solid player in a 1/1 game in England is 3-betting.

partially relevant to the question of villain capability is that 1/2 games play very big in the UK and are sometimes the biggest game in the room. They have a 'match the biggest stack' rule which means you can sit deep immediately and then top up as soon as anyone else's stack grows. And often regs will rather do that than play in a deep, 2/5 TAGfest against other regs

my experience is that there is a very wide level of skill and experience at 1/2 games there with some very very good players alongside the newbies and fishies

Yeah from my experience 1/2 games in the UK can be very tough games. This is 1/1 and has a match half the biggest stack rule
