Accidentally Got Hooked on Live Poker in Cambodia

Hey guys. I’m currently on vacation in Cambodia, staying around Jinbei 3 and I’ll be here until the end of May. I was mostly planning to relax and explore, but I ended up stumbling into live poker for the first time… and now I think I might be hooked. This is my first post on this website which I've only heard from my friends who are actual live poker players.

While staying here, I found this Tou Ji Poker Room inside Jinbei which for some reason piqued my interest. It's nice that the staff were really welcoming and made it easy to jump in. The games felt casual, and they even helped me get the hang of the basics.

Luckily, they’ve got some kind of promo running til the 30th I think? Think they’re giving out bonuses to grinders but what I like most is the free buffet haha. Honestly, I’ve just been enjoying the chill vibe and meeting people.

Since I’m still new to this whole poker thing, I’m wondering if there are any other good spots in Sihanoukville Cambodia to check out while I’m here. Preferably beginner-friendly, but I’m open to anything worth trying.

Also happy to take any beginner tips—on etiquette, strategy, or what to avoid—so I don’t embarrass myself too badly at the table.

Thanks in advance! hoping to meet friends here.

How's the game? What stakes are you playing and what are all the promos?

Hi! The game’s been pretty chill and fun. I've played $1/$2, which works well for someone like me who’s still figuring things out. The players are a mix of locals and travelers like me, and the vibe is friendly and not too intense.

They’ve got a bunch of promos running through April 30. Just not sure about May onwards.. Here’s what I’ve picked up from the room or other players:

-they have some lucky pick kind of rebate when you lose. you get chance to win $30, $50, or $100
-they also have a progressive jackpot of 50, 30, 20%
-Grinder league for regulars — not sure of the full structure but seems like people are grinding for leaderboard prizes
-some folks get rakeback or even free accommodation (this is really nice tbh)
-I've encountered a funny signature hook play also: 3-8 off suit gets you 38$ once you win the bluff with flop

I think they also have $100 referral bonus if you bring in 3 players but I'm unsure how that works for now, maybe I'd ask once I play again. not affiliated or anything but if you're curious here's their fb page https://www.facebook.com/toujipoker . Any chance you play poker around this area too? Recommendations?
