Any country can join whatver organisation they like. It's called self determination and Russia doesn't get to arbitrarily decide the self determination of other nations.

arent you the guy who wants to murder anyone who has voted or worked for Hamas Hezbollah and dozens of other organizations?

Color me curious here - if sarcasm, then you agree with the position that Russia is the at fault party in this entire problem yeah? I'm curious though, if you still support the Administration (let me know if im wrong here too), how can you compartmentalize the manner they've dealt with the situation in a way that does not reveal or indicate a broader more general scope of eithe

ofc Russia holds a lot of blame. I have always said that. and I have never supported this administration. so I guess when you get your facts straight about my position then we can engage what you surely intend as good faith discussion.

That's because you're actually not perfectly rational, you're a Putin apologist, meaning that actual rational people don't agree with you.

My argument has nothing to do with Putin.

I'm asking you if the Warsaw Pact (and forget the part about the coup since you can't accept that reality either) arranged with Mexico to set up an army right off our border you would be ok with that? That would be within Mexico's rights and if we take military action against that we are the new Nazis etc?

And to round out the parallel what if the Warsaw Pact started shelling American ex pats living in Mexico?

Just tell me you would advocate for no military action on the U.S. part in this parallel situation and then at least we will know exactly where we disagree because I would be all over the U.S. defending itself in that scenario.

I dont know how true this is, but social media is reporting Russia is looking for an off ramp that would involve keeping the land they have captured and partial normalization with the West, which would include selling fossil fuels at market rate (which is A LOT more money than nations like China and India are currently paying).

That being said, there was a massive attack on Kiev tonight, with potential mass casualties, which seems like something you wouldn't be doing if you were trying to stop the fighting.

You've done nothing but stan for Russia itt and that makes you a Putin apologist to rational people.

"All the goals of the strike have been achieved," - RF reports on today's terror in Ukrainian cities.

This strike is called the most massive strike by Russian ballistics(!) during the full-scale invasion. Tomorrow, a Day of Mourning for the dead has been declared in the capital

And they are not lying about the fact that the goal has been achieved. That is what it is - to destroy the Ukrainian people.

Not for sale

At the moment, when there are literally one and a half Kremlin narratives left that have not yet been voiced by US President Trump personally or representatives of his administration, in attempts to stop Ukraine in its heroic desire to stop Russia (and not vice versa).

When the United States, through the mouth of Secretary of State Rubio, stated
that the Trump administration is so dependent on Russia and Putin that it would rather walk out of the negotiations (recognizing itself as incompetent, populist and weak) than go against Putin and Russia.

When the US President's special representative visits Putin more often than Putin is in the fresh air.

It is important to note that such a glorious country as the USA is one step away from recognizing the territories occupied by Russia and Russia's occupation actions as legal.

If the power in the US currently belonged to people who would study the issue, they would certainly find, albeit fictional, the reasons that Russian propaganda called for, arguing for a full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

And what has long been obvious to the entire civilized world, perhaps would also become obvious to these temporary people in power.

Although, probably, it is the lack of a sense of temporaryity that prevents these people from thinking before making statements or taking actions.

Were the public arguments of territorialist number 1 - recognition of Crimea as Russian?

Did Putin say in the same address: “We will now torture and kill tens of thousands of Ukrainians in their homes so that, when the most incompetent president imaginable comes to power in the United States, the United States will at least recognize Crimea as part of our territory?”

It probably wasn’t. All the words and all the actions of the Russian dictator are aimed at two goals: to occupy the territory of Ukraine, to kill all Ukrainians who disagree with the first point.

And in order to recognize the occupation or surrender to Ukraine, it is obvious that neither Witkoff nor any other golf partner of President Trump is needed.

And here are three news stories from April 23:

- The number of victims of the Russian suicide drone attack on a bus in Marganets, Dnipropetrovsk region, has increased to 54, 9 people died
From April 24
Mobile phones ringing from under the rubble in Kyiv

10 dead and about 100 injured in capital after attack...

- Rubio: The US has become better at understanding the Russian Federation’s position in the war against Ukraine🤡

What are you afraid to answer a hypothetical? I guess you've exposed yourself passively as in agreement with me because you can't bring yourself to say you would support a Warsaw Pact type organization setting up in Mexico with the cooperation of the Mexican government.

All of you who are pro Ukraine and absolutely critical of Russia need to resolve this hypothetical or you are being inconsistent and hypocritical, not guided by values but just lowest level functions of the U.S. deep state.

That never happened. What did happen was the USSR putting intermediate-range nuclear missiles in Cuba, mainly because when Khrushchev was at his Crimean villa he was annoyed by the thought of US Jupiter missiles in Turkey just across the Black Sea, apparently not knowing that these missiles were scheduled for withdrawal because Minuteman and Polaris were coming into service and the US considered IRBMs obsolete. (The Thor missiles in Britain, operated by the RAF under dual-key US-UK control, were also scheduled for withdrawal, as the RAF now had the 1-megaton Blue Steel stand-off missile for its V-bombers.)

You may recall, however, that the US didn't bomb or invade Cuba. Everybody including the chiefs of staff was telling JFK to bomb and invade, but he didn't. At the time, his tough 'quarantine' policy was much mocked, largely by cartoonists, because of the US missiles in Turkey, but there's a difference between the hemispheres. Going all that way around the world to provoke the US is not the same as mounting a defence against Russian predation in Europe.

And Ukraine had been refused NATO membership for the foreseeable anyway, because you can't accede to the North Atlantic Treaty if you're in a border dispute. The whole claim of 'NATO encroachment' is Kremlin propaganda, and Putin's invasion of Ukraine has had the effect of making Finland and Sweden join NATO, so that didn't go too well, did it?

Most of the ballistic missiles that hit Kiev last night were NK made. And this is on top of all the Iranian drones and war supplies China has been directly supplying Russia the last couple years.

In other news the EU is normalizing relations economically with China, so they can indirectly give needed support to Russia in the Russian war effort.

It's a shame Russia had to go to such extremes to clarify the situation. The U.S. can say and do things which are orthogonal to reality only up to a point, after which there are going to be negative consequences. The reality is Russia is winning this war. Crimea is not in play. Foreign troops in Ukraine is not in play. Russia has lost skin in this game and they are not going to turn around and entertain this transparent trolling from the Whitehouse. Russia is putting pressure now directly on Ukraine and it is clear Ukraine needs to act independently because the U.S. will keep trying to drag out this situation if it means one more Russian will die.

Marketing campaigns are not war campaigns. Ukrainians need to forget about the slogans and the branding and all the vague promises of the West. The West just wanted to **** you, Ukraine. It didn't want to commit because the West is really not that into you. It's time to take some responsibility for yourselves.

So in your worldview murdering civilians with NK ballistic missiles is euphemised as “clarifying the situation”.

Victor it isn’t quite as obvious, but this thread has been extremely mask off moment when it comes to you; and it is extremely clear you are just an evil fascist bootlicker, with no first principles other than antisemitism and hatred for civilization itself.

And there is pretty much no evil that fascist actors like Russia, NK, Iran and Islamists could do that you wouldn’t cheerlead enthusiastically.

I don't need to entertain a hypothetical as Russia is the aggressor here, just as they were with Georgia. If you can't see that then I don't know what to tell you.

curious how many millions NK and Iran have killed. and how many countries they have invaded.

You think that Khrushchev put missiles in Cuba because he was annoyed? Maybe mine is the boring orthodox view, but I thought it was because they posed and existential threat to the country he was leading. At least you know that the U.S. was also the aggressor in that scenario. Most people just think Russia just did that unprovoked. How long after the fact will it take you to accept that Russia was also provoked in the current conflict? Within the span of your life maybe?

The bottom line is Russia put some missiles in Cuba and we almost blew up the world over it. The only reason any of us are alive is because a Russian sub captain disobeyed an order to fire his missiles at us. The U.S. has never been so close to being obliterated and obliterating Russia. So why try to recreated that situation again? There are other ways to release adrenaline rather than pushing nuclear conflict to the absolute edge. Russia would absolutely nuke us if it lost this conflict, which they see as existential. I just don't think that possibility is really registering with people because it's never happened before (to us).

If we escalated to the edge of nuclear war because of some missiles in Cuba, what would we have done if the Warsaw Pact cooperated with Mexico to start hosting armed forces and whatever else it wanted there? We would nuke Russia before we allowed that. And they would nuke us before they allow the reciprocal to happen to them.

Anyone who supports Russia in this war should go into a gas station bathroom, scoop up a handful of turds, eat them, and then roll over and die.
