I wanted to post something Survivor related but realized there's no general thread about Survivor. Each thread is about

Joe is basically just a calmer version of Coach. Not the caricature Coach was, but just as delusional with the "honor."
The season, I'm sorry, is being overshadowed for me by the cast's refusal to go after Eva. In any other season, if you had a player with an unbreakable partner and an idol that were both publicly known, literally every conversation would be about how this needs to be dealt with. The idol needs to get burned, the duo needs to get broken up, everything.
I also think it's pretty clear why that's not happening - no one wants to be on national TV saying "time to target the girl with autism whose story was so moving it made Probst cry".

I have a feeling that Eva will make it to fire - that's an easy out, because if she loses because of nerves she didn't get voted out by anyone, but lost doing a challenge that's totally even. I'll predict that if Joe is in control, he does it and justifies it by saying "you're strong, you can do this".
I totally disagree with the above Eva take personally but I guess Survivor is all about opinions

This was the first episode where Mitch received even a single vote. He hasn't been targeted at all, and rightly, because he has no alliance and no power. Eva has both - what other reason could there be for her name never to ever be mentioned? Not once is it ever considered to try to flush her idol and in the one or two times it was mentioned to break them up, it's only Joe they consider.

The thing is, I don't see Star being anything but a zero vote finalist. She's been fun to watch, but has been totally uninvolved with anything and could never argue that she had any contribution to people getting voted out.
What I'm waiting for is the inevitable clash between Joe and Kyle, who I think are the two potential winners at this point. The fact they've had so many confessionals and they did the reveal about Kyle's past in the last episode confirmed he goes to the end for me. Eva getting voted out will be a teary eyed moment, but honestly it would be smarter for Joe to have her on the jury because she's a guaranteed vote for him to win. Could also see a TC where Joe convinces Eva to give him her idol and she uses her other advantage to duck a tribal so they are both safe.
Kamilla, Mitch, Star, Mary all drawing dead IMO. Star and Mary both have zero vote finalist potential.
Joe has to make a decision soon about cutting Kyle and Shauhin though, because they are the biggest threats to him winning.
David was onto things but just freaked too many people out with his behaviour, disappointing.
Star going for a swim was the most screentime she's received yet. Impressive. 100% zero vote finalist.

If were playing the comparison game id say that David is way more of a modern day Coach than Joe is.
Joe is playing much more of a Tom Westman/Jeremy Collins game (ironically both also firefighters)

I love how Star voted for Mary instead of playing her SITD.
There was no sense in Mary voting Star.
Everyone voting Star, she shots in the dark, now no votes, Mary goes home on revote.
Or everyone voting Mary, so Mary goes home anyway.
I guess the 1 saving grace is she doesn't burn bridges with anyone by voting them

I’m really hoping we get some end of season fireworks after all the fake honour.
Start of this season was great, but I agree it's become boring button clickers with zero spine. Will be more interesting if something happens, but pre-merge was one of the best new era seasons.
