2024 Fantasy Football Thread
Welcome to the 2024 fantasy season, where I'm officially addicted to best ball. I've been drafting since the end of Jan
This one is for newguy. I was only planning to go 2 QB, but Trevor was there at 144. Definitely need the rookie RBs to come through haha.
Burrow, Caleb, Trevor
Judkins, Etienne, Ford, Martinez, Jarquez, James, Tahj Brooks
Chase, Tee, DJM, Odunze, Hunter, Kyle Williams, Dyami
Njoku, Loveland, Strange
Just remembered this team. Come on, RBs, please.
Where do we think new adps will be on the drafted rookies?
Jeanty - 7 overall
Hampton - 5th rd?
Hunter - 5th rd?
Tet - early 4th?
Egbuka- 9th rd?
Golden - unchanged ?
Am I way off?
I'd say
Jeanty - Eventually settles at 1.07, but I don't think it'll be immediate. The WRs after the top 3 RBs are all still extremely valuable, especially in the best ball environment. I think that mindset will remain since Jeanty landed at the most likely spot and not in a better offense like the Bears.
Hampton - mid to late 3rd, with potential to reach late 2nd. I definitely don't think he drops from where he's been going to the 5th. I think the market is going to froth over the landing spot. I said I'd take Najee 10th or later yesterday, but I think it should be more like 12th/13th/14th after thinking about it more.
Hunter - 3/4 turn, especially since that'll be easy stacking with BTJ/Trevor's current ADP. Trevor should rise at least 2 rounds to the 9/10 turn. I saw Hunter plenty in the 5th round in the LB2 already.
Tet - Early 4th seems about right but probably deserves to be higher. Hunter may flip him. People will still be worried about Bryce/Panthers, even with the draft capital. I will continue to draft heavily.
Egbuka - I'm not sure. I'll probably fade him early until the settles. 9th seems about right, since that's where McMillan has been going. McMillan will fall a lot, but he could still be a nice add on Baker stacks late when the other options around him will all be dusty vets or way less talented rookies/underperforming WRs. I still like his talent and profile. Godwin should fall. I think Evans stays about the same.
Golden - Staying in the 7/8th seems fair. My initial reaction was landing spot was bad, but I think it should be fine. He won't have weekly target volume, but the spike weeks should be enough. Reed should fall. Doubs will probably stay about the same. Wicks should fall and is basically undraftable (like he should have been last season haha). I still worry about WR rotation plus run heavy offense, especially if Watson makes it back by the end of the year.
Loveland - He should jump up to the Jonnu/Andrews range, where Warren has been going. Kmet is probably still draftable on Caleb stacks if you're hunting TE in the last round or 2, but it won't feel good. I still expect him to be involved.
Warren - He should fall to where Loveland has been going in the 11th. I'd put him between Kraft and Likely/Kincaid. Downs and Pittman should both fall.
We'll see how tonight goes, but I'm not seeing a big reason to draft on the first day or two of contest release, yet. Most of the ADP changes will be fallers, with the risers only moving up a round or 2. I guess the market has done well, so far.
Ah yeah forgot the TEs. Agree with your assessment on them
I thought that even though landing spot (by end of season) and draft capital were good, Hampton might drop out of Najee fear, but maybe the market is too smart for that haha
I like Hunter and he’s my 1.02 in dynasty now, but that is a hefty price tag haha (I will continue buying though)
I’m going to keep buying Tet at basically any price I think
Don't think Jeanty goes up that high. Most people expected he'd be a Raider for a while, and he's mostly gone as high as the 1/2 turn.
I think Hampton goes late 2nd to early 4th. I would take him over Breece, Chase, Kamara, and Mixon.
Haha the funny thing about the Hampton/Najee conundrum is that half the market absolutely despises Najee (the slappies) and half of the market absolutely loves Najee (the boomers).
Ultimately, I think Hampton with the draft capital and landing spot wins out, especially with him already going mid-4th. Sadly, I think both might end up too expensive for me to want to attack heavily. But it's a good offense with good coaching and a run heavy approach, so they both could return value at inflated prices.
And yeah, I'm just willing to accept the Hunter risk for the upside. I'll probably be closer to even-1.5x the field compared to the 2x field I was targeting pre-draft. Early on, I thought about being 3x the field when he was going 100+. I wish I had continued that stance.
I can't wait for the Tet naysayers to be proven wrong. Apparently Bryce/him have already been working out this offseason.

Maybe Jeanty doesn't make it to the 1.07, but the market loves to double count certainty. I'll draft him at around 8%, regardless of where his price lands.

.
I definitely lowered my exposure on Najee when I started hearing the Chargers would likely draft a RB.
But I still believe he'd have been a pretty good play as high as the 6th round if he were guaranteed to be the team's RB1.
Dynasty slow draft update, I am ****ed at rb and making a 14 tm start 11 league 32 rds is disgusting haha
Also having rookies separate from the is real hard to value the picks (you draft kickers for rookie picks)
We’re on rookie pick 37 now and I have no idea how to gauge whether I’d rather just draft will shipley or a rookie
Mahomes, Stroud
Jones, Warren, Chubb (ew)
BTJR, Nico, MHJ, Worthy, Deebo, Diggs, AD Mitchell
Kelce, Gesicki
I think I just need to draft rb, te, rookie draft picks for the next 6 rds and then maybe hammer some backup QBs. Idk the field is so thin already now that I kinda just wanna click players that can be on the field
Was sniped on Allgeier when I took Chubb
lol that’s pretty gross at RB. I’d probably chase the rookies over Shipley in that spot.
Nice spot for Higgins.
Yeah upset I only got up to 6% Higgins. Still kinda see him as a high bust rate guy though
Judkins - Browns. Wow
Yeah, not sure what to think about that pick lol. But at least Judkins got the capital.
That team I quoted above has both Judkins and Ford. That could actually work out just needing some points each week.
Definitely hurts my Chubb dynasty share haha
Think Judkins probably moves up a rd or 2 right?
Some o line for Tua.
Take Burden, Pats.
Henderson to the bears will make him a rd 3 pick? (Unrelated just speculating as I’m guessing bears go rb in 1 of 39 or 41)
Henderson to the Bears would be diabolical lol.
LMAO Pats took an rb (Henderson)
Oh boy. That might be just as good for Henderson
Rip Griddy
Lmao Griddy. I think Mondre will probably still be a 40-50% guy, but definitely not the guy like Griddy was hoping.
Start of the 2nd has been strong for fantasy.
Pick of Kaleb Johnson in the Monty role?
Burden!!! Lfg!
