There's never been a time where it was an obvious cost-benefit balance to put in that infrastructure (let alone the political capital).
In 2016, the Canadian government rejected the Northern Gateway pipeline from Alberta to B.C. after nearly a decade of review, citing insufficient Indigenous consultation. The pipeline would have carried 535K barrels of oil per day to Asia-Pacific markets, generating $300B in GDP over 30 years.
In 2017, TC Energy canceled their Energy East pipeline project after the Canadian government demanded they calculate all of its indirect GHG emissions. The pipeline would have carried 1.1M barrels per day of Alberta and Saskatchewan oil to Eastern Canada, generating $55B in GDP over 20 years.
Also the Canadian governments rhetoric and policies scares investors away. Who knows what happens if we had a government that embraced our resources.

In the end we went for TMX expansion, which vastly reduces the economic case for northern gateway. You can't just cite the rosiest estimate sans TMX expansion silly.

U don’t seem to know much about Quebec politic especially with bloc .
It’s the last remnant of any kind of center like the PC before the new « polievre PC (reform party) » destroyed it from the inside .
The only French stuff is just about inside quebec so I don’t know why you care much about it shrug .
If French was such a big issue for Bloc Québécois for the ROC, they would have candidates in all other provinces don’t you think .

Since Quebec is the most progressive province , it will in general profits all Canadians ( minus those that are extremely conservative like shifty ) .
If liberals needs a coalition with the bloc , it will be about the same for NPD social programs without all that woke stuff …

Quebec is the second highest population (by far!) while Ontario has the highest that voted liberal .
