Moderation Questions
The last iteration of the moderation discussion thread was a complete disaster. Numerous attempts to keep it on topic fa
It's less about smart, more about me being a particular fan of logic puzzles over other types. I'm not good at memorising how techniques that you need for very difficult regular sudokus work and quickly stop finding easier ones interesting so variants where you can make deductions with a wide range of different logical (and mathematical) steps appeal to me more. Similarly I'm crap at remembering facts and don't have great general knowledge for regular crosswords so even though I do like them I prefer cryptics simply because the wordplay makes them more interesting to me. I'm not even very good at cryptic crosswords, I just enjoy them. I will say they are an absolute nightmare to try to get into though as there are so many rules and conventions that it's like learning an entirely different language.
memorize all the operas and rivers in europe for crosswords
Have you guys seen the recent 100 men vs a gorilla trend? Dudes think they could win against a gorilla bare handed?

I just want to be the first to encourage you all to use the scientific method to test this hypothesis. I’m fascinated and believe in the research.
This is for science.
The gorilla has superior strength but would be physically exhausted after some finite number of men swarmed it. 10? 20? I dunno
That was the first thing my mind went to. We solved this debate 20 years ago!
"solved"
I will be in the audience sitting with the bear and taking copious notes Lmao
And again, we should only send in the alphas who actually want to fight the gorilla. Self-selection is key to this process. π
It's fair to say that a lack of confidence wouldn't be a problem

I recently saw a video about this on YouTube, but it didn't clarify if the humans could have weapons. Even the link you just posted doesn't mention anything about it.
Of course if they could use any weapons it wouldn't be a fight at all. But assuming they were in a jungle or forest, or pretty much anywhere other than a desert, would the men be allowed to make weapons out of whatever they find lying around, or would they actually have to stay barehanded? That would make a big difference to how many men would be needed to beat the gorilla.
People seriously overestimate gorillas in these discussions. Especially their stamina. This is an easy win for the 100 men.
I'll fight a gorilla right now, I'm high as ****.

Most of the 100 men would freak out and run away, turn on each other while maybe a few would initially get destroyed. In actual practice, this is more of a psych study than an actual fight.
It's like having a boat that is able to hold 50 people but 10 hysteric people ruined it for everyone.
My point is we should let the men do it. I know gorillas are endangered but I think this is a worthy cause. Do it for science.
How many men would it take if the gorilla is guarding a kidnapped princess?
If running away is an option, the gorilla would book it away from 100 men, exhaust himself to the point that it would literally have to collapse to the ground heaving, and then get absolutely mauled by the men because it's too tired to put up any defense at all.
This is just not an interesting proposition.
