low content - vocab quiz poll!

you are recounting a hand to a companion. at some point in the hand, you went all in. you wish to use a snazzy verb to pep up the tale for your companion.

example: "late night foxwoods 1/2 NL. effective stacks 350. i made it 12 UTG with KQss. Three coldcallers, and both blinds called. flop JT9 rainbow. i checked. someone bet 50. three callers. back to me and i _______ (went all in)

what is the best verb for this situation? see exciting poll

shoved
shipped
jammed

^ This. In that preference order.

Equal preference for jam or shove as a verb when describing our own action. Don't use ship as much, preferring to use it to describe opponent's action when we're nutted:

"So we river the nuts, and bet 10% pot to induce. Sure enough, V ships it."

Will use rip interchangeably.

I would just say almost in because I'm boring. Also, it seems like people use all these other terms for less than all in sometimes.

Babar, you of all people/elephants should know that "ship" is that very special word when the dealer presents you with the sherbert.

When you are in an urban casino, you should always say "Shippity dippity, give me that bippity!"

completely agree. however, some of these newfangled variants have tickled my fancy.

I actually really like "pile" but am more likely to use "rip" or "jam" in my HHs. Surprised that "shove" isn't a choice as I think that is most common.

Ejaculated.

Shoved is more polite. Rip or jam for the party crew.
