The NHL Thread
For the 5 of us who post NHL stuff, here you go. Officially the season starts Tuesday October 11, although there were tw
While I'm here, empty your betting account on the Jets to win tonight and then double down on the Stars to win game 7.
The Stars have lost eight consecutive series openers in the NHL playoffs since 2022, including all seven under DeBoer after a 5-1 loss in Game 1 to the Avs.
βWell, weβre going on the road,β DeBoer said when asked if there was anything he could do to try to change that trend. βOther than that, not really. Thereβs only so much you can do. I like our preparation. The way we prepare for a Game 7 is the same way we prepare for a Game 1."
Six of Dallas' seven Game 1s under DeBoer have been at home. So have all three Game 7s, like Saturday against the Avs that made DeBoer 9-0 β the most wins by any NHL coach or player in such games.

Big on Marchand over 0.5 points +125
Less on Lundell over 0.5 points +140
Yeti is absolute garbage too. There hasnβt been a good team name picked across sports in a while. Kind of a reflection of how weak and trash the young are. I, for one, welcome being nuked off the earth.
I maintain that the original sin is calling it Utah. Salt Lake whatever has a nice rhythm and would go with pretty much anything. Utah starts awkwardly with a vowel.
Mammoth are fun animals. Should get a nice logo out of it.
Thereβs a logo, itβs semi-similar to Predators logo. It sucks and looks like a minor league logo, to go with the minor league name. Itβs almost like itβs flipping the bird with its tusk. I guess I almost like that aspect of it until I realize itβs us fans who are getting the tusk bird flipped at us.

Fun Facts:
Mikko Rantanen is only the 3rd player in NHL history to have back to back hat tricks in consecutive games in the playoffs.
Doug Bentley did it in 1944 with the Chicago Blackhawks
And Jari Kurri in 1985 with the Edmonton Oilers
He has also scored or assisted on Dallas' last 12 goals.
Can the Capitals approach 30% corsi tonight? Exciting times!
It's time to go for 2.
