8/16 turned 2p against agression from unknown
V was new to table but I was already starting to suspect he was not good but not confirmed yet.
8 handed, 2 limps to me, AQo I raise, folds, BTN, V calls from SB. BB folds. 2 calls. 5BB
Flop is KQ8r. Checks to me I bet, BTN folds, V calls, monkey calls, bad asian lady calls. 7 BB
Turn is A I think bringing a FD but honestly don't recall. V comes out firing, monkey calls, lady folds.
I tank for a second. I think I should have raised but did not, just call. 10BB
River is a low brick. V fires. Monkey folds. I just call.
I should have raised at least one of the late streets but did not. If I raise turn and get 3! I have to call. And call any river, I think. If he calls my raise and fires river I have to call.
If I wait and raise river same thing.
How is my thinking?

Yeah turn is a raise and a call down to further aggression

Raise turn as if youβre ahead you want to get value from draws that you wonβt get when the river bricks out, and if you are behind you are almost always drawing live.
Eh, honestly I just call here vs unknowns, because I'm a multiway pot someone always has JT.
BTW, in any 8/16 game you should assume any individual person plays band until you're shown otherwise.
There are villains where I call this down, but I think the default has to be a raise. A set would have c/rβd flop, JT would have c/rβd the A turn. My guess is the A also gave him two pair. AK here seems to be the only obvious hand to be scared of and I doubt villain 3 bets that on the turn.

I haven't played 8/16 in a while but I do remember getting punished for making what I thought were good value raises. That being said, this hand is too strong and we might be giving up a lot of value with the third player in the hand. The SB could have a flopped two pair he was gonna CR the turn with but decided to donk when the Ace hit. He could have AJ, AT, A8, AQ. I'd discount AK, AA,KK, QQ etc. If the turn did put out a flush draw he may have that. Usually people would go for the CR with the JT.
There are spots where I would just call down and maybe I do here with a live read.

so someone donks here and you only raise with JT? Seems a little nitty given my experience at 8/16
As I called river bet, I said "nice hand"
He laughed and said "not really" and tables A9o.
