NBA 2025-26 Season Thread: THE NY KNICKS ARE CHAMPIONS! BING BONG!
Lettuce NBA!
and lettuce lol @ James Harden
Okc has to send pretty much the combo of Chet/Isiah to make the salaries work. You could offer Chet/Isiah Joe (who is this guy I dunno he makes 12 Mil though) / Dort+picks galore.
Giannis should do what everyone else does and demand to be traded specially to OKC only.
Local Oklahoma City should just consolidate and do the Boston thing. They have so much depth and talent. They don’t need take a big swing. The big Home run thing has not worked since Kawai in 2019 and that was a bargain deal

I don’t have a good enough understanding of cap rules and okc’s appetite for the luxury cap, I admit, but it almost seems like given the talent on this roster right now and what the going rate indicates it’ll cost in the next two years that they’re better served shipping the couple truly trash contracts they have with picks or talent for a home run swing than standing pat
If you can wash your hands of Joe and Dort kinda feels like you gotta
For hilarity's sake I'm hoping Giannis demands a trade to Phoenix and only Phoenix.
Jokic is no longer the best player in the NBA. The last two teams have made him look not so great. A great player would battle through and at least make some shots. I hate his guts. Thank God for Gordon.
I've never seen an NBA game where the score was as silly as 80-39 at the half.

the team he's beaten or the best/deepest/most dominant team in the NBA that he's tying with despite having far inferior teammates and coaching?
Some big yikes there
Wonder which team has the capital to land mitchell and Giannis
Also lol at the cabs just making garland their sacrificial lamb
Ok, hear me out because this is stupid, but so are lots of things the NBA does:
Bucks get:
Mitchell
Allen
Maybe a pick somewhere
Cavs get:
Giannis
Salary filler
Who says no? Bucks know Giannis is leaving and don't want to sell their fans on a full rebuild, so they get two solid players to compete now.
Cavs get Ginnis to pair with Mobley and Garland, so duh.
Obviously this deal isn't better than OKC, but as everyone has said, OKC isn't exactly motivated to do a deal if they go to the finals/Rang, so comparing it to their "12 picks and CHET" deal may be amoot point anyway
Can't think of anything reason the Rockets don't swoop in tho

I'm not convinced this deal makes the Cavs much better. I'm sure the Bucks would do the deal, as they have no realistic chance of getting a front line scorer back from Houston or OKC, and they are not in a good position to do a total tear down.
Knicks will lose in 6 to Celtics.
Then trade Towns/Mikal Bridges for Giannis/Portis.
Knicks trade Mitch
And sign Myles Turner.

Mitchell has scored 30+ more times in these playoffs than Shai, Edwards, Tatum, and Jokic and the Cavs should dump him?
Put Cavs at full strength and take 2-3 of Pacers' top 6 off and nobody is talking about blockbuster trades or blowing things up.
I don't follow front office stuff that closely. I just don't believe Garland + Giannis moves the needle for the Cavs.
Now Mitchell + Giannis, and we're talking. If that's even possible I don't know.
No idea how they don't rule that an offensive foul. It's literally textbook. Randle lowers his shoulder and pushes him with his forearm.
And if you don't want to call it an offensive foul, Dray didn't foul him. The NBA needs to release an explanation for this call.
It was a proximate foul that occured before the offensive foul I'm pretty sure.
In his hypothetical you’re either losing mitchell or Mobley and you’re ****ed either way
You can't give Mobley. He's a DPOY and somehow still underrated by a lot of folks. Mitchell isn't the piece that matters here. The whole "Never getting past the 2nd round" isn't all on him, but it's not entirely nothing.
Garland, Giannis, and Mobley is a fine core to work with. Giannis and a bunch of stiffs just made the playoffs. Give him a couple other guys to work with and they can compete.
Definitely agree that Mobley is the more valuable of the 2 but if you give up mitchell to get him that team makes no sense and still wins nothing
If anything I feel like garland is the piece you throw to the wood chipper. Garland, Allen, and whatever additional accessories you need to make it happen gives the cabs a viable team
Welp, it turns out I'm a dumbass for a different reason: CLE is probably going to be a 2nd apron team next year.
As a result, it's going to be nearly impossible for them to make a trade work under the cap rules. Ouch.
