Staying at the Rio for the first time for 12 days next month, any suggestions are welcome! 😁
Finally did it, after seeing the exorbitant prices to stay on the strip and rather have something a bit less chaotic with a better pool area, albeit out of the way.
Cost me about half the price of staying at the horseshoe, and I have a renovated room with a king size bed and a better view than I'll get of the side of the Paris air conditioning units
Anyone have any thoughts? Looked at getting a bus pass but heard the area is sketchy, and I'm pretty sure taking the public bus to a 3K bracelet event is a bit -EV in other ways...
The Rio is owned by Hyatt now and has been putting in heavy renovations for a while so I imagine it's probably actually nicer than the horseshoe, planet Hollywood, flamingo etc. The pool scene is also abysmal at all of those places so I figured having a good pool area for a few hours a day is worth being out of the way

Hey man, see you've got no responses so ill try and help get it going. I've never stayed at the Rio, but been there several times....driven in that area. What's sketchy about hopping on a bus on its way to horseshoe area?
Tbh, and Uber or taxi will be pissed about driving you that short distance but youll get picked up eventually-or you can just tell the taxi driver youll throw him a few extra bucks.
But I guess my response is a question as to why you think its sketchy? And yes, Horseshoe as a casino sucks balls but the accessibility is fantastic for a multitude of things. Im staying at Paris this time cause the chic wanted to try something different.
If you need to ride the bus, you shouldn't be going to Las Vegas.
If the Horseshoe is bad, then the Rio is way worse.
Be careful, the odds of waking up in a tub of ice with a kidney missing are increased staying at the Rio.
